C'mon Scotland :j :j :j
DB and Biggar are cheering you on :T
A frustrating match, but the best team won on the day :T
I am finding myself getting slightly annoyed by what seems to be a sense of meanness at Scotland sporting events where good manners and respect for the players seems to have gone out of the window. So many boos and jeers during parts of that match that I thought I was at a pantomime
I've only been going to live rugby games for 10 years or so, it did not used to be like that.0 -
Feeling washed out today, my sleep has been incredibly poor on 5 of the last 7 nights. My usual routine seems to be sleeping from 22:30-02:30, then waking up with lower back pain?
I have started to increase my water intake and will switch most of my coffees for tea, so as to improve hydration and reduce caffeine. Not really sure what I can do for the back pain, perhaps it's spending too long at my desk at work and or poor posture? Will try and take more screen breaks.
In my experience, nothing makes you feel more abject than lying in pain in the couch trying to get to sleep!
Onto more positive thoughts, I have requested a quote from a removal firm and our mortgage application has been submitted to the lender.
I have continued with my weekly ritual of sending £33.85 over to Funding C1rcle to take my available balance up to £40. It seems a fitting start to Monday morningFC have updated my expected rate after defaults and fees, which is 9.2%. This drops my blended P2P rate to 6.78% after tax, but I'd rather have more accurate numbers than spreadsheet P0rn that makes everything seem overly rosy. I am expecting £100 to come back from one of the higher yielding lenders who have no real business to send my way, that should pull the average back up at the end of the week :T
Right, back to work spreadsheets0 -
Loving all your financial tinkering
I think the thing with sleep patterns is, your body gets into a habit to wake at a certain time. When I'm having interrupted sleep, I normally wake up at 3.15am on the dot.
I've found the best thing I can do to have a good nights sleep is to stay away from the computer or iPad screen after about 9pm

I was thinking a new mattress too..... it's one o the few things that is worth investing the extra £££'s for....0 -
We spent £600 or so on a new mattress last year, it was a massive improvement on the old one and I really don't think that it is the problem (it was a decent Sealy one with a latex top and we did quite a bit of testing before going for it).
The switching off at a certain time idea suggested by Goldie sounds like a good one to add to the list of possible 'fixes'.0 -
Try a hot water bottle on your back.
I have got to the stage where I even take one on holiday0 -

In that case, definitely not the mattress!
Do you drink much coffee?0 -
I drink more coffee than I should (maybe a real mug a day + 3 instant coffees). I have long been of the opinion that I am caffeine sensitive, but have ignored this as I'm addicted to caffeine0

Do you do any stretching exercises, Ed? Might need to start2023: the year I get to buy a car0
