So, how do you tell who's marketing and who loves their hearts? That's the 25p question KC! :D

Bathroom silicone replaced, bathroom floor, tiles and oven steam mopped, big box of books to charity shop, tip run. Tomorrow I need to minimalise the study and tidy up chipped paint.

Great tips. I am shocked how little some people prepare for rightm0ve pics. I.e a sink full of pots. I also take down a few photos so people can see themselves there and it's not too personalised to us. That also helps with the decluttering.

That smacks to me of lazy EA, that is the sort of bleeding obvious thing that they should point out to dozy sellers ;)

    Hi Mr E

Just having a catch up as I've not been around for a little while..and feel like I've missed loads  Moving house being the biggy! All sounds positive so far though and I wish you well with it.

I don't envy you the packing to come though....it's been 5 years since I moved into my current place..and the thought of doing it again any time soon still gives me shudders :D

    Happy weekend

After a gruelling 3 hour battle, room of requirement is a sophisticated adult study, with a minimalist work area, carefully arranged books (to show off all the unused space) and a few neatly arranged booze bottles to show potential for use as a pantry as well :)

On with the kitchen, today is not long enough

Absolutely knackered. Spent 18 hours picking up DIY stuff, repairing, cleaning and tidying away crap this weekend. The flat looks better than I've ever seen it, even with the odd wee flaw that I couldn't realistically fix :)

Not bad considering I had a splitting migraine until late afternoon!

    Awesome work!
Ask estate agents for tips as well - I had one that was incredibly helpful about what to do - and a couple that were clueless but the helpful one was worth listening to the other's wittering on....
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

Thanks Watty, hopefully Mrs E will glean some good tips, I'll not actually be there for the photos etc. as I'm in the office. It is a funny sort of feeling, putting in all the effort to make the place look great and then missing the fun part :)

Payday today and the focus is on hanging on to every penny of cash we can. Less than helpful bank has refused to let us know how much money we can borrow 'as it would be unethical', so I have been forced to sell funds from my S&S ISA at a smallish loss. This frustrates me, not so much because of the loss of a few £££, but because I didn't start planning early enough for something that was obviously going to be a consideration sooner, rather than later.

In my defence, I hadn't expected the housing market to remain so stubbornly pointed upwards :o
