Hi
I have about 100k in a mixture of savings and investments(stocks, cash , premium bonds) and i am looking to get to the 350-500k mark in the next 2-3 years. I am 29 years old and i don't own any property yet. I am looking to retire by the time i am 35-40. Any ideas for some big gains in the next 6-12 months? I earn about 35-40k a year and can invest/Speculate about 75% of my income

You arent going come close with cash or premium bonds and your investing to achieve that goal would have to be almost like boom or bust.
To put it in perspective, you would have doubled your money over the last 4 years on the stockmarket. You are asking to treble that in a shorter period which cannot be done unless you take very high risks.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). High risk = high reward.
Try Oil and Mining Stocks.

But learn first how the various investment and trade strategies work else you will go from £100K to 0K real fast.
I spend a lot of time looking and not much time speculating - up 83.37% since January - sounds a lot but I don't risk much - only what I can live without.
Meanwhile use the obvious ISAs and high interest accounts that are around to increase your capital.
Property is a good place to put your money - check out the auctions - lots of repossessions now on the books (back to 1994 levels) - this will only increase as the interest rate rises.
Study long, risk little and make lots - good luckThe best way to escape a problem is to solve it :j0 -
Leverage. Warrants, options, shorting, spread-betting. Or angel investing, get in pre-IPO.0

Yes indeed.
I invested in Oasis Healthcare in early January and then in the last few weeks 2 or 3 companies have been bidding to buy them out. I got out at 83.37% - if I still had them they are now up 110% on what I paid for them!!
Still a profit is not a profit until it is in the bank :jThe best way to escape a problem is to solve it :j0 -

For an essay about trolls on Wikipedia, see Wikipedia:Troll. In Internet terminology, a troll is someone who intentionally posts derogatory or otherwise inflammatory messages about sensitive topics in an established online community such as an online discussion forum to bait users into responding.[1] They may also plant images and data on networks that others may find disturbing (usually indirectly relating to the individual in person) in order to cause confrontation.0 -
First post, phrasing of the question. No response to dunstonh's sensible reply. Seems very troll-like to me.0
