Gatwick McDonalds MET parking fine

tanjong Posts: 1 Newbie
Hi I have trawled previous threads and am worried about whether to ignore or not.

My partner was waiting for me in mcDonalds carpark with a coffee he purchased form there, but my flight was delayed. He then went in to eat in McDonalds but overall he stayed over the hour allowed.

We have just received a fine for £100 through the post reduced to £50 if we pay within 14 days (although by the time we received it there is only 8 days left.

He clearly stayed over the hour so there is no defence on that, but is it enforceable, and will anything adverse be registered against him if he ignores the fine?

Many thanks

You should maybe go and look at current threads, starting with the Newbies Sticky!

Ignoring has not been advised for a long time now.

    Do not ignore.
I won at POPLA against Met at this exact same McDonalds. They did not even bother to contest it.

Appeal to Met, who have to give you a POPLA code and then win and cost them money.

More than happy to help you further with this .... Let me know
The word "gullible" isn't in the dictionary
    Tickets: 19 [cancelled: 18, paid: 0, pending: 1]
    PPC Appeals: 8 [accepted: 2, rejected: 5, pending: 1]
    POPLA: 4 [accepted: 4, rejected: 0, pending: 0]

Welcome to the forum! Please start again at square one and don't pass 'go' until you've read the 'PRIVATE PARKING TICKET? NEWBIES PLEASE READ THIS FIRST!' thread at the top, which gives you your first appeal wording (doesn't matter about the circumstances):

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=163

Please read the top thread and learn to appeal and beat it. OLD threads said 'ignore' in 2012!

We have 100% record of winning appeals at POPLA stage, for over a year now. This is NOT a fine.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
