  • Time flies - not posted for almost two weeks. Must try harder.

Two days to pay day. It's been a very long month this time and seems like an eternity since last pay day but such is life.

I'm a bit skint this weekend so probably won't be able to go out this weekend which is a shame as it's quite nice in Yorkshire today. On a positive note my friend has bought two new albums which he has lent me to put on my iTunes as this is something that we regularly do. I'm off to see one of the bands on Wednesday which I am looking forward to.

  • Pay day today and the day my payments go out. I'm chipping away slowly and I'm now a quarter of the way through. Not sure if to be pleased or depressed by this but only option is too keep batting on.

I know people post with differing levels of regularity and some people are more laconic than others but I've been surprised by the number of diaries that fall by the wayside so quickly when people seem so keen and determined to start with.

  • Forgot to say, I've saved a massive £8 per month on my phone and broadband by changing my phone packing and upgrading my broadband from 20 to 30MB!! I'm also getting a new router tomorrow.

  • Day off work today but as I had to wait in all day for my new router (free) to arrive I haven't spent a penny.

I've been out to watch some cycling tonight. I didn't spend anything while I was there though as it was only a five minute walk.

Concert tomorrow though so I've budgeted £40 for that.

  • Just back from the gig. Ears are ringing a bit but I had a great time. I took £40 out and came home with £1.97. There was a cash machine in there and I wanted to buy a t-shirt but they didn't have them in my size so I saved £20.

  • Quiet weekend. I went out for a few beers yesterday afternoon/evening and I was a bit tipsy so bought a Chinese takeaway on the way home to eat with the football. £21.37 spent in total.

I have an exam at work tomorrow as I am applying for a course which they pay for. However, as my current level of enthusiasm is very low at the moment I might tell them to shove it up their backsides.

  • I had to catch the bus today which cost me £4.60 but no other spends.

I did my exam but I wasn't particularly enthused by it all. I will see what happens but I am still a bit down on work at the moment.

  • Bloody hell - over a month since my last update. Time flies.

Well, I passed my exam and I was offered an interview but I decided to tell them I wasn't bothered so that's that.

On a positive note, I'm now getting plenty of overtime in at the minute so should have a bit more spare each.

Will try and update my progress....

  • It was payday on the 22nd. Unfortunately my employer made a mess of the overtime payments which, needless to say, I wasn't too pleased about. However I did net an extra £410 so not all bad.

I've decided to allow myself £80 to cover my smaller loan payment and I've put £320 to one side, although I do have future plans for it.

  • Well it's a been a decent week all told. I still have the £320 put to one side and I've completed my overtime for this month which will be paid on the 23rd. The overtime I'm doing now will be paid 23rd October when I also get a bonus and a backdated pay rise. Overtime supposedly going on until December so plenty of earning potential so I'm feeling quite positive at the moment.

I've also been bought a brand new washing machine, kitchen sink and taps and been given an oven that's only a year or two old. This is all from my parents and my mother is a clean freak so the oven looks brand new so I'm very pleased. Just need to paint the kitchen now.

    Onwards and upwards.
