so who is the gadget freak? mine are all in cupboards - where I forget about them and do things the oldfashioned way!0

Haha our cupboards are full so our unused gadgets sit on the side like that!
Hmmm, I wonder if I did move the radio... no, I already hate the thud as he hits the floor jumping off the fridge, it makes me squeamish, wouldn't want him any higher!0 -

If I held Barnes like that the pic would just show a 'blur' as Barnes shot out of my arms like wet soap! he hates being held like that. he prefers being held like a baby, on his back and cuddled close into my neck. (I did wonder at first if he had 'vampiric' tendencies? but, no he just likes to be close enough for kisses to be dropped on his head)0

Years ago, when I was still living at home with Mum and Dad, I had a job as a Rep. I lived up in Blackpool at the time, but came home every weekend to see everyone.
On a Sunday, My Mum, used to make me 3 dinners, to take back up with me on a Monday, so all I had to do was Nuke them. She used to put them on the worktop, just under one of the wall units like you have. There was many a time that the Cat we had ( George, BTW who was female (( My sister loved George Michael, I did too a bit ! lol)) used to sleep on the top of the unit , then decided to jump down, 1/2 asleep. I remember seeing her launch herself off the cabinet and in mid air seeing the plates. She would steer herself away from the plates, just tapping the worktop to cushion the fall, before landing. She never once hit a plate.
He will get up there, fortunately for us Tibsey has not started to get up on the worktops, or climb anywhere in the kitchen, so hopefully it carries on. She has been in the Tumble dryer though, which is on top of the washing machine in the utility room.
He really seems to be settling in now, You have done a great job there, he seems such a Happy moggy !.0 -
Lovely pics
Him 'breading' as we call it on the bathmat he looks so cute. And him catching the rays.
My cat goes on the fridge sometimes mainly when we are hoovering. He gets terrified of the hoover bless.
And derek loooks so happy there in your arms. Don't know if it is just me , but they don't mind hugs until you get out your camera then they seem to want to boltINACTIVE ACCOUNT0 -
Thank you!
One thing I've noticed is the backs of his hind legs are quite dirty - they're white so it really shows up!
Should I make any attempt to help him with this? They've been like it more or less since he arrived!0 -
You can get pet wipes out of places like HomeBargains that you could use, but I wouldn't really bother. Cats are clean freaks, so it may be a colour tint on him, like black hair mixed with white, or a darker colour of skin underneath that shows up dirty looking. Have a go of the pet wipes, they are safe to use and wont irritate the skin much. Keep away from human soaps, especially ones with tea tree in them. I think it is the same for cats, it can kill them if it gets in a cut on dogs,.
If you gave him a bath, the claws come out of every joint, orifice and hair strand ! You wont know what has hit you. Have you tried clipping his claws yet? They may be getting a little long as he isn't going out. You can do it with human nail clippers, but keep well away from the pink nub of the claw. This should only be done when he is totally chilled out, as the same as bathing will occur. Once he goes out, I would leave them alone, he will wear them down naturally. The vets may cut his claws for you, if you haven't been to the vets yet, get him registered and get the flea/worming treatment for him whilst your there or a prescription for it and buy online.0 -
Cheers - it's definitely dirt
Definitely wouldn't try bathing him, I don't have a death wish! Hehe. Haven't cut his claws yet either, he doesn't like his feet being touched... hoping to start letting him outside soon.
Yes definitely need register him with the vet, already got some flea stuff online, still need to get worming tablets...
Just terrified of taking him to the vet for the first time, I don't think he will handle it at all well, he freaks out completely at strangers... hate to think what happened to him before the RSPCA got him0
