Half an hour to spare.. Aldi or Lidl?

Lidl is much closer to where I live than Aldi. I have tried Aldi but I wasn't keen on the selection. Like the instore bakery rolls. I tried their jar of pasta bake for the first time, bought the cheapest pasta which I think is branded Simply Pasta? It went down really well with my kids for their tea so will have to get that again. I try and buy a few new things every time I'm in to see what I like. Can't get everything I need but am converting the kids and they prefer Lidl cereal now to named brands which is saving me money. I was impressed with how much money I saved last time I was in. You do have to watch some of the prices but anything I don't get in Lidl I get in Asda along the road. You can only try and see what you like.0

I prefer Aldi but to be fair our Aldi is closer than Lidls, and why spend another 5 minutes in the car? I go to lidls if there is an offer on I want - I can usually find other things I want to buy there that Aldi doesn't stock.
I do my main shop in Aldi. at first (back over 15 years ago), I only got about half my shop in Aldi, now its more like 95%! at first I went to aldi then mR T, now I just pop to mr T once every three months to do a top up shop of items that other brands just don't 'do it for me'. like real chicken oxo cubes - I love the veg cubes from aldi - but dislike the chicken ones. and curry powder - mr T or Shwartz. other powders taste wrong. and shwartz bread sauce and pepper sauce packets - except that Aldi had THOSE in last time I was there! In fact my top up shop in mr t was a measly £13 odd! (and my last visit there was before Christmas).
Try both stores and find out which items you like - OH used to hate food shopping - he thinks its a bit of an adventure now - especially as they have all these 'blokey' things in!0 -
I must admit the nearest Aldi at Gillingham isn't very nice as I think its just far too full of stuff stacked higgldy pigglety around the floor ,but I found that the larger one in Sittingbourne is akin to shopping at Carrefour in Calais.Spotlessly clean and very well run.The nearest Lidl to me is at St Peter's Street in Maidstone and its a pleasure to shop there as it too is very clean and well filled shelves and extremely helpful staff make it really nice to shop there. If you find the larger ones I think its often the case.
Thank you, I read this thread trying to decide if i might risk it and you've named all my local Aldi and Lidl branches, so decision made :T0
