Want to buy but not with a particular estate agent

I have a seen a house that I really like - my only problem is the estate agent, the very same people a few years ago tried to sell me the house of a convicted !!!!!phile... this information I luckily found it before I completed from one of the neighbours.
The agent never told me about this and after that I refused to have anything to do with them ever again.
I have since found another house owned by a lovely couple and I'd love to buy, however they want to sell the house via the exact same estate agent. I have told them my issues with them but they believe they have a contract with the EA etc... I haven't contacted EA, so they do not know I have contacted this couple - the house is really nice but I just cannot ever deal with that EA ever again out of principle.
Obviously I cannot verify the exact details of the contract between the vendor and the estate agent, can anyone suggest any advice for me to give to them. I know some people may think it is petty but after they treated me in a such a way I do not even want to step foot into the branch of that estate agent.
Any advice would be welcomed

What was the problem with buying a criminals house. It's not infectious.
EAs have no duty to disclose the criminal records of a vendor.0 -

The vendors will have a locked in contract, only they know for how long, probably 12 weeks.
Any EA selling a house is not working for you as a buyer, their job is to sell the house for the vendor.
They are not duty bound to disclose anything about the vendor, they could be a murderer, they could have died in the bedroom, they could be a child molester, unless you ask the question you won't know the answer.
Presumably someone bought the house that you didn't!
I think you will probably lose the house if you won't deal with the EA, that's your choice, in the end though you want the house and the dealings with the EA will be short. Your choice!0 -

There is no advice you could possibly give them which allows them to avoid what is in their contract.
It is the vendors which have a contract with the EA not you. The only possible solution I could see would be for you to deal directly with the Vendors and accept the fact that if all goes through the EA will still be paid (by the vendors). At least you would not have to have any dealing with the EA in question.0 -
Even a kiddie-fiddler?!? And the house had been targeted by local mobs, clear from the damage to the door/walls with the air rifle damage. People would surely associate the house for years to come... wouldn't you agree?0

Fair enough... i'll end it here, I just don't like the thought of living in house knowing young children had been raped there over a period of time etc.. but hey that is just me.
Thanks for the advice guys
P.S I actually asked the estate agent & confronted him and he lied point blank to my face.0 -

I can understand you not waiting the house if you feel uncomfortable about it what I don't understand is why you are blaming the EA presumably he didn't rape anyone!0 -

I would agree, but this is a different house.

You could have a limited search if you will only buy through agents who will not lie!0 -
I would agree, but it's not that house.

Yep but there is a difference from a little white lie and 'oh didn't I tell you the vendor used rape kids hence the reason for the damage to the doors'
I do see your point though cos i'm guessing 90% of EA's lie daily.
I'll leave it there cos I see this post getting flamed with my usage of certain words0 -

I totally understand that. However the estate agents work for the seller not the buyer so have no duty to disclose to you.
If you really want this house don't cut your nose off to spite your face.Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud.0 -

I believe there are rules that when people are convicted that they are not allowed to runs businesses which means prisoners will sell up their property as they are not allowed to rent them out.
It would be possible that your new neighbours would have blamed you for putting money in the pervs pocket and wonder what sort of sick person would want to live in such a place.
You did the right thing as you could have easily been the new target.0
