Tried to find the chapattis today, is it the lighter ones? Only one there anyway so no good. Was planning on getting chapattis and ciabatta but ended up getting neither. Will have to look again next week.What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

You would have to start a list. :rotfl:
You do manage though, at one point we had £3 week left to buy either cakes or bottle of wine for a treat. We had no idea how we were going to afford birthday/xmas presents but in the end we did. You just get on with it and you would have to do your own dinner.
Yes I remember it well.
Bought first house for £21 k in 1984. Back then tea was beans on toast and a weekend treat was buying chips from chippy with penny jar. Ex hubby was Coal man back then so that was heating sorted and my dad was butcher so free meat. Interest rates went up between signing for house and moving in. Monthly payments went up £36 and mortgage was over 2 weeks wages.
But shops were shut on a sunday and no late night opening excpt friday until 8pm for Safeway. Only shopped once a week. Once I learnt to drive we had mums car fri to sun every week but do not remember putting fuel in:rotfl:
Things are different now.

They were lovely, we've been using for ages. I'd deffo buy them again. I was going to take out fishcakes but got kieves out instead. Can't remember last time i ate a chicken kiev..
good girl, that's an ace "saving". I also saved £3k this month, by going to Butlins instead of dubai for a holiday.:rotfl:

We were very lucky, we moved in here 29 years ago, had to remortgage at one stage, but the house is now worth about 6 times what we paid for it and we owe less than £10,000 on it
I don't think we could afford to buy it these days though. We have more than enough space now the kids have fledged, and we have a nice garden and it is in a lovely area.
I could not buy this house if I was a 1st time buyer:oI did notice you the APG killer but didn't like saying:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Thanks tweets:rotfl::rotfl:I didn't mum did
