This is my first time booking through the Sun. I booked online and haven't been given any of my 4 choices. I have asked them several times for an amendment or refund and all they do is point me to the terms and conditions stating no refunds or amendments. I feel really let down by them.

I wouldn't mind so much but the place they have allocated me has no facilities and if you look at the reviews on Trip Advisor I can't understand why anyone would choose that park.

Southsea Leisure Park. I have cancelled directly with them as there is no way I am going there let alone paying the extra £77 they want from me.

I was so looking forward to some time away and I am really disappointed not to be going anywhere.

Hi. I booked my 1st ever sun holiday on the 2nd may. Its at a park dean site. I'm getting a bit worried as I haven't had confirmation from park dean, I've only had the sun confirmation. Do they normally leave it so long?

You should hear by May 30th if not seek help here

You should also have had confirmation from the Sun as well as holiday payment details from the site.

    Hello!
My cheque just cashed, but no letter or email. How long will I have to wait for more information?

I have a priority booking code if anyone wants it. I can't get any dates or parks in August (I've left it way too late), but there are still holidays in school time if anyone is interested in giving it a go. PM me if you want it.

    Thanks

(I couldn't find the booking number request thread)

We went there a couple of years ago. We felt let down by the holiday, I must admit. It wasn't sun holidays standard really, and the facilities were not as promised.

They charged more for entertainment passes than Butlins! There wasn't the shop they said there was, but there is a spar shop locally - ask the pub staff onsite, they're friendly.

There was no swimming pool. When I asked they said it wasn't high season, but it was the half term at the end of May and was baking hot.

There is a wooden boat thing to play on, a bit like a park. My kids enjoyed it, we bought them some lightsabers.

It's right on the beach, that's a positive. We liked walking on the beach at sunset, but mostly just used the caravan park as a base. Luckily my husband was with us, with the car. It's nothing like a Haven site or anything, it literally is just a caravan next to the beach, but there's lots to do locally.

We went on day trips to the new forest (there'a great play park in the woods, I think it's on hundred acre lane?), to Paulton's park to visit peppa pig world, to look at HMS victory, etc. and we made the most of a family holiday, even though the park wasn't like the ones we usually get on a sun holiday. On the plus side, it's clean. Read some reviews for Pontins :rotfl:

Just an update, received a balance reminder letter through the post today from parkdean saying I had 3 days to pay as I should have had confirmation etc from them via email/post already, I had received nothing from parkdean.

I then logged in to pay and seen an email address listed on the account from a direct booking some 6 years ago and is no longer in use, it wasnt the email I used for the sun booking so maybe they linked my account and sent confirmation there? Anyhow all paid now and looking forward to the holiday.
