I recieved a letter last week stating that my student loan was deferred. I have noticed that a payment has been taken a few days ago. I have emailed erudio but there is no answer, not even an acknowledgement.
Should I give them more time to respond or just claim back through my bank?0 -

She then tried cancelling the dd
I've finally got them to do a refund...0 -
I rang them the day it happened to me and was told that it would be refunded within 10 days, however I also rang the bank and they rejected the Direct Debit for me.
I have today had two refunds from ESL for the same amount. Will just sit on it until they try and claim it back. Don't see why I should get in touch given that they happily took my money after sending me a deferment confirmation letter. My debt free diary | Post Office loan: £2131 1429.38 | Barclaycard: £4429 1988.12 | Paypal Credit £322.71 574.91 | Monzo Flex £169.03 |

I can't believe that even after Erudio finally agree that you should be deferred, they still keep dipping into your bank account.
Anyway, can anyone advise where we stand legally if we cancel our direct debit after we have been deferred? If they do try and take money then they are in the wrong because they shouldn't be?
However, it does say in our original contract something along the lines of we need a valid direct debit (or bank details) in place, I think?
If I have to ring my bank up every month to cancel their incorrect direct directs, then I want my money back for all those phone calls + compensation for the time and the hassle/stress of it all!0 -
