maybe i am wrong but i dont think Erudio really has a manager, i think you are discussing things with Ventura/Capita, so dont be surprised there is no one available from Erudio. As far as evidence suggests today, the only employee Erudio has is its director Mark Filer who has so much contempt, he cant even be bothered to speak on behalf of his company and tell us the truth why this whole situation is a disaster...which is likely because they (its backers) have subcontracted all the frontline work out and further sold our info on to yet another huge debt collection agency! Something no one has yet address who is reporting on this, or reported by BIS, which is almost as big a scandal as the actual selling on by the government originally. Now we dont know who we are dealing with unless someone who does know proves Erudio has its own staff who are handling all our very sensitive information. I want to know, dont you?

This is quite common now, this sharing sensitive information with "partners"
    data is the new oil!
The DVLA sell on data, our NHS records, our tax records are all up for sale, all to be linked up with the experian, arrow global super computer.
Get in line to milked cows.

It may indeed be normal but we need to be told what is happening exactly. It needs investigating and BIS to answer for it, because they have said no such things in their 2 press releases about this sale.
  • There may be case to answer for because don't forget these loan contracts were from a long time ago before such "clauses" about sharing information with partners became common in many contracts.
    I'm no expert though.
  • Also, can anyone enlighten me on different ways to assign debt.
Has it been fully assigned where erudio become the original creditors.
Or as is much more common the debt has been sold to erudio but they can only take people to court with the SLC, and have more limited powers in that regard??

---> Erudio student loans: time to complain to the ombudsman?
Former students being aggressively chased for debts could soon deluge the Financial Ombudsman Service with their complaints.

Student from the 1990s are fed up with the tactics of the firm which bought the outstanding debts from the Government last autumn. Erudio Student Loans paid just £120m for around £900m-worth of debt and last month contacted graduates with demands for proof that their loans do not yet need to be repaid.

Those concerned have repayments deferred because their wages have stayed below an earnings threshold.
Yet many have had money wrongly snatched from their accounts by Erudio, which is owned by debt collecting giant Arrow Global.

However, i has taken up the case of several and Erudio has apologised and repaid the money, or the fed-up former students have reclaimed it under the direct debit scheme after confirming money was taken in error.

For instance, reader Debbie got in touch after £84 was taken from her account. After i’s intervention, she reported: “I had the £84 credited to my account by Erudio yesterday.”

But despite the firm ’s promises, more are reporting bad experiences and plan to complain. If they don’t get satisfaction they can turn to the Financial Ombudsman Service. It gets 50 new debt collection complaints a month and upholds 40 per cent.

The ombudsman said: “If you feel you’ve not been treated fairly by a debt collector, or that they are not taking your circumstances into account, get in touch – we are here to get things sorted.” Details at financial-ombudsman.org.uk

---> Money alert: Erudio Student Loans and the Ombudsman

Former students being aggressively chased for debts are being advised to turn to the Financial Ombudsman Service if they are unhappy with the way they've been treated.

The Ombudsman said: "If you feel you've not been treated fairly by a debt collector, or that they are not taking your circumstances into account, get in touch – we are here to get things sorted."

Students from the 1990s are being targeted by Erudio Student Loans, which bought the debts from the Government last autumn. Those concerned have repayments deferred because their wages have stayed below an earnings threshold.

Yet many have had money wrongly snatched from their accounts by Erudio, owned by Arrow Global.

When the wrong payments have been pointed out to the firm, Erudio has apologised and repaid the money, or the fed-up former students have reclaimed it under the direct debit scheme after confirming money was taken in error.

But if they don't get satisfaction they can turn to the Financial Ombudsman Service. Details at www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/

Can only assume that with so many deferment deadlines looming, and so many not processed due to Erudio's complete shambles, then there are going to be a lot of DDs taken out soon that should never have been taken.
