  • In all honesty, I think instead of popping the pills she needs talking therapy!

My son is 12, and he was/is the same, then we spotted in our case that its when he was getting hot in bed, so we changed him to a thinner duvet and a blanket on that, and he has been much much better, not to say it doesn't happen, but rather than every night its probably once a month now.

Also a thinner duvet is easier to wash and dry, which is a bonus.

He is a very heavy sleeper, if we put an alarm in I can guarantee he would sleep through it and also similarly I once caught him weeing on the landing still half asleep.

we have never shouted and he has a choice of shower or just to wash in the morning, have you ever got up and got straight into the shower - not nice, don't think I would like it tbh.

Anyway just passing on my experience, as we say to our son, they make night pants for kids from ages 5 to 16, so if it wasn't that common then they wouldn't make them.

Good luck, it will get sorted, its hard I know but harder for her I am sure.

I'm afraid I don't have any experience with the problem but I can appreciate how difficult it must be. I wondered if putting runners on the hall carpet might help if they are getting wet - turtle mats aren't cheap, but they look nice and can go in the washing machine. It seems really strange to me that a 12 year old would wet herself while walking - do you think maybe she is sleepwalking?
