If you've time to try on, next jeans are great, ignore the size labels just buy what fits.
I personally wouldn't spend £90 on a pair of jeans, you are paying for a label more than a fit.0 -
I would also say don't discount skinny jeans! I'm a size 20 and always stayed away as I thought like you they'd make me look huge. In the end my sister made me try some on and I look thinner in those than I did in boot cut. Seriously just give them a go

I'm a fair bit bigger than you, but with the added complication of being short! I swear by New Look bootcut jeans, either in the Inspire range, or "normal". They are under £20 and fit really well. They don't last forever but at the price I've no complaints! They do a variety of lengths as well.
Good luck.0 -
you tried long Tall sally? they have loads of jeans for taller women and variety of styles. And mostly aimed at a slightly older clientele so shaped to cover your bum and pants!
Last time I was in topshop, ALL the jeans were skinny ones (in the tall range), i just want comfy ones for work and lounging around in.0 -
I second the idea about skinnies actually being better in some cases! im a 16/18 but tall and have a waist and i much prefer amd suit skinnies. I wouldnt touch legging/jeggings with a barge pole but a decent pair of skinnies can be really flattering for any figure!
Try them on, youll never know

thanks guys, i'll pop into Gap and look at the curvy range and also the jamie skinnies in top shop. I've never tried them on either, the thought frightens me a bit, but what the heck
wish me luck! though based on past experience i'll prob end up depressed with no jeans and chowing down on a mcdonalds large meal to cheer myself up!! 0 -

There's some tips here on what to wear with them, so maybe wear what it suggests for trying on to see if that makes you feel better when deciding.0 -
I just don't want to end up looking like this!

My hip measurement is much bigger than my waist measurement too! IMO Dorothy Perkins jeans are unsung heroes! If you are feeling spendy, then Not Your Daughters Jeans do fit very well and don't sag. But the sizing is enormous - you need to try them on.0

I really need some new jeans, so need to go in to town this afternoon and the thought of it has my stomach in knots already!
I'm 5'9'' but a size 14-16, depending on how "generous" the sizes are, but I can NEVER find jeans to fit.
Because I'm not a size 8-10, the though of wearing a pair of skinnies makes me feel sick (and make my thighs look like a pair of sausages!), so I always end up going for straight leg, or bootcut. When I do finally find a pair that I think fit, they seem fine in the shop, but of course, once I get them home and wear them in, the bum sags and the old "builders bum" seems to rear it's ugly head.
I think I might be a bit oddly shaped, in the sense that my thighs / hips, are a bit out of proportion / larger than my waist, if that makes sense?
I'd really like a pair of jeans that I can dress up a bit, i.e. wear with a pair of heels and a nice top on a night out.
Can anyone offer any advice / suggestions? I dont mind paying a bit more, maybe up to £90 if I can get a pair that will actually do me justice..... I've heard good things about Levis Bold Curve, but looking at their website they only go up to a 32" waist, and if I remember correctly, Levis sizing isn't very generous, so I can't see them fitting if I'm honest
Help! And TIA......
I'm 5ft 10 and a size 22 in jeans. I have never found the 'drop waist' style very flattering. I always look for high rise.
What I do, is order from an online catalogue, one that does a 'tall' section, and order about six pairs or so of ones that I think might suit me and maybe some that I think won't suit, you never know what will look good on you till you try them all!
I never keep them all, just one pair or maybe two if I'm a bit flush!
Free delivery back and job done.
I hate shopping for clothes with a passion, but don't mind shopping this way.
Hope this helps.
