Transfer form

Gave away my printer, now Halifax wants me to print a transfer form to move my isa from Leeds to them. Will it happen without a transfer form, as the help section states needed if banks do not operate a Bacs system.
If they really need a form will the branch hold them?

I have had a traumatic afternoon re Halifax - almost feel like giving up and going elsewhere.

Opened an online account for their fixed rate ISA a week ago, but still haven't received the promised transfer form or activation code and my current fixed rate ISA has matured.

Yes, the transfer form is needed as it provides them with the written authority to make it happen in accordance with HMRC rules about transferring - they should be available in branch if you can't print one.

The actual means of getting the money from Leeds to Halifax is a separate unrelated issue, i.e. BACS is irrelevant.

As an aside, Leeds don't use BACS to send ISA transfers. It's all done by traditional and slow methods, i.e. cheque

My Leeds ISA (all £102.34 of it :p) moved to Santander within 3 days including the day of posting the transfer form to Santander.

    Definitely not slow :D

Very fast indeed. My money is on you having bribed Royal Mail to deliver the transfer request form before you sent it. Or Santander back-dating the transfer date, which they usually do. But normally it is back-dating to the day after your money left the old ISA - are you sure they cheated you out of 3 days interest?

I'm just happy if RM actually deliver my mail at all :o

Transfer form posted 18/4, £102.34 (presumably with armed guard escort :p) left Leeds 20/4 and appeared online at Santander 21/4.

If they had cheated me out of 3 day's interest, I would have lost £0.021 and would obviously have lodged a formal complaint :rotfl:

Goodness me Halifax! Went in to ask for the transfer form, thought I must be speaking a foreign language. They had no idea what I was talking about.
The manager insisted I could do it on line. Eventually they printed me off a form, it was so faint it was impossible to see the little boxes.
It was not the same one as was on the website, so will see if it works.
God help some one going in for a mortgage!

Still waiting for a transfer form from Halifax in order to move my ISA over to them from Aldermore:(

I have phoned three times about this but nothing has arrived yet and my previous fixed rate deal ended a week ago.

Not that impressed with Halifax so far.

    Anyone else experienced delays?

Why can you not proceed with the Halifax ISA transfer procedure which doesn't appear to require a form to be sent out?

If you google 'Halifax ISA transfers', you come across what looks a phishing site which copies the Halifax web page? DON'T use this link http://paramountbank.co.uk/isas/transfer-isa/ - it looks extremely phishy
