Once again I find I finally find time to post while procrastinating to avoid starting housework on a day off from work. About to ring freemans and clear the catalogue balance so happy day on 1 hand. Still many more to go but hey it's a start on a sunny day :)

Another day off another little post. Have spent today pottering thru housework and baked a cake and made fudge. Too bloody hot for anything truly constructive but a little is better than nought. Gonna sort next 4 days at works meal plans and play with ynab now try and stay on the good path for a few days :)

  • Trixxibell thanks for asking. Bad couple of months. Hubby off sick, money lower than norm, debt weighing round the old neck. just a bit out of it really. Need to get him mentally fit and well and back into work. Hate to try to rush his headspace but we have no money space. Kinda sticking my head in the sand spending as little as poss playing 0% CC transfer lottery lowering every possible payment and seeing what payment breaks I can possibly juggle to survive this. I have so much 0% deals I'm loathe to go through stepchange without a good fight as I know I'll screw our credit for 6yrs+ and we have 1 car on hp 4yr deal which tbh we'll need to renew and an almost 12 yr old car that I pray everyday survives forever cos we can't afford repairs or a new 1 much as desperately should b replaced. Giant mess really that I wish someone would magically fix for me. Anyway this rant is not exactly helpful so off to see what I can concoct for tea :)

  • Well new year looms and so much has changed. I think a new diary is in order tbh as what started this one is so different going into 2015. Resolutions r gonna b made for the first time in a very long time. We r at the bottom and 2015 sees the start of climbing back up. I shall see you all on the other side in a shiny new place which really will have a lightbulb moment in it and hopefully a light at the end of the tunnel. New Years blessing to u all and a good riddance to my 2014

    Hi All
I am a long term lurker and occasional challenge joiner and as the title suggests somewhere between my lbm and a nervous breakdown:eek:. I feel i'm hitting the wall and also realising I must sort this s%$t out once and for all. I am toying with running this diary but i'm a tiny bit afraid of the scary old trolls condemning me and how often I will update as I don't always have a lot of time. I do however feel I need somewhere to let some stuff out, ask for help on some things (and risk some harsh criticism) and hopefully get onto the right track (and stay there). I see so many people getting on and becoming positive through doing this I hope it can do the same for me.
I'm gonna do a brief run down of where I am and start to create the dreaded soa which i'll grab the courage (whiskey) to post soon I promise.
So, there's me and the hubby and a s$%tload of debt. We have a mortgage, small zoo of animals and 2 cars to run on 2 fulltime wages. I know people will say part with your pets but I might as well say now it ain't gonna happen, would you part with your kids? don't waste the time typing it please that's the 1 soapbox I stand on...sorry
Our mortgage is stuck on interest only as we can't afford to change it, its also in neg equity, we each have a loan and we are playing credit card jugglers with 0% balance transfers which is now making my head spin to the point I don't wanna get out of bed tbh. Our debts come from desperately trying to keep 2 old cars running for 2 long because they were paid for and it seemed better than getting a new car, long ago living like it was going out of fashion and generally being crap with our money.
I now am a yellow sticker queen, have downbranded to within an inch of my life, juggled like I have never juggled before and i'm at the bottom of the barrel. I can't admit defeat and go bankrupt even though I know it would be easier in the short term. It would kill the hubby, hell if he knew this was me here writing this it'd kill him, he just sticks his head in the sand and tells me to fix it and say yay or nay if he asks for anything. I'm just now struggling to see the wood for the trees on any of it. I need a plan and a way to write it all down and account for it all. I'm not great with computers/spreadsheets but I can cope with apps or good old fashioned ledgers. any suggestions gratefully received. We have come into our yearly work bonuses and I need to figure out their best place in paying off stuff and making life easier, again any advice appreciated.
I know this is all a bit waffle-ey and without an soa may be a bit hard, but I actually feel better for writing even this down. So for now i'm off to review and compose all my debts down and if I can cope maybe all my expenditures too to help this along. Hopefully I can get through all this and not be too annoying as I waffle on if anyone wants to read the waffle of course.:)

what animals do you have mismatch? iv got a cat and another one has adopted us! they cause me stress and a lot of money spent, but they my furbabies and like my children and trolls, well it's not their fault, they weren't hugged or loved enough as a child! :rotfl: just started reading your diary, hope your journey is going well. :)

    Good luck :)

(I hate to ask, but do you really really really need to run two cars as they seem to be the source of so many woes?)

Thanks dory22 and armorica for taking the time to post. Dory I have 6cats and 2 dogs eek lol.all the cats r rescues of some sort 3 from rescue centres 1a friends new partner was allergic, 1 a feral I was neutering then re-homing (yeah right almost convinced myself lol) and the last someone was gonna drown her and 2sisters as at 10 weeks no one wanted them :( Armorica we could maybe manage 1 car in reality as ur so right they cause such woe. Oh must have car as works 26 miles away and shifts run between 6am start and 8pm finish 7days a week. I am 5 miles from work working anywhere from 8am to 8pm 7 days a week but daily tickets are £5+ and shift patterns vary where weekly tickets could often waste 3/4 days.current diesel spend is £40 4weekly with monthly tax and ins costing £35. My car is paid for but old however we have started on our iva journey and have yet to find if finance company will end our agreement because if it. Apparently they can even tho they aren't part of the iva so we may find out sooner than later if we can manage week. In the spirit of new year huge change with iva and all that jazz I've started a new diary today mismatch on a mission. Hope to see you both there as I learn to survive a proper budget and no credit back up at all.....pass the alcohol!!!
