Well first day back was hideous second is soso but we must plod on. Checked out the freezer yesterday and I will only need 2 meals bought to survive till payday so that's good. Just need to stick to the meal plan of chicken 1 day mince the next, rinse and repeat!!! Small unplanned spend tmw going halves on a strimmer for our allotment with my dad as although it's our allotment he helps out and enjoys it so it's much needed and he's offered the half. I'll let him have extra chicken eggs for a while to appease my slight guilt that he's going halves .
No great excitement and sadly no extra payments but to addition to the debt either so technically positive week so far. Still itching at getting ynab early and playing but resisting so far. Mainly cos the hubby will think I'm a loon faffing on with it so will need to so it while he's out them can go dah-dah look at this marvelous thing I did, not have him carping overt shoulder while I crunch numbers for hours lol
Well must pootle back to the grind, lunch is over

I've just read your posts from the start and you already seemed a transformed poster! You have more focus, positivity, and determination. Well done on actually starting your diary and keeping on with it. :T
I've heard ynab is addictive! Glad it's helpful. I'll bet you blast through the chores so that you can get back to it!
Keep going!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Another vote here for YNAB. It's transformed how I feel about money and debt. Having your LBM is one thing, but having YNAB to help you back to solvency and sanity is something else.
All the videos on the site are really worth watching. They are easy to understand even if spreadsheets scare the hell out of you. And the blogs there are good too - some great money saving tips.
It is addictive too, and the reports are great fun. My favourite is the net worth report - watch that line go up and up and think of all the things you can use that chunk of income that's paying off the debt for when it's above zero. In the past I would have thought "great, I can stop worrying about it then," but having discovered the joys (yep, joys) of budgeting and planning for stuff, I'm actually looking forward to putting it towards other goals like investing to watch it grow.
I started the year with £18,300 of debt. Now at £15,731 and counting. Thinking about extra income streams to cut it quicker!

Oh and good luck with everything! Facing up to reality is a huge, scary step and the beginning of all the good (if hard) things that come after it. x0
