Thrilled to bits as 10km under 60 minutes today!....I did choose a flatter route having had 11 days in Cornwall. ....0

I feel that I can now post back on here again. After 3 weeks of being to ill to run, I am slowly getting back to it.
Still not 100% but managed a gentle 6 miles @ 8:30 mins per mile pace last night without my heart rate going through the roof like it has been. Unlike sunday when I ran a gentle 5 mile XC @ 8:45 mins per mile with my HR at 96% of max!!
Hopefully I can start my marathon training properly soon.
I've even booked a night up in Osmotherly in March so that I can hopefully do a 20 mile run and drive home without being knackered.“Time is intended to be spent, not saved” - Alfred Wainwright0 -
Still not feeling 100% but managed a 15 mile run on Sunday, although with new shoes on I took all the skin off my heel so am back in pain again lol.
Rest till I race on Sunday now.“Time is intended to be spent, not saved” - Alfred Wainwright0 -
Things seem to be going well for me running-wise.
5 weeks today is my first HM in Liverpool, I've been sticking to my training plan quite well, and giving myself some time off in the week after very long runs. Did a 10 mile race last week in 2:05:59 and was hoping to get faster this week as the course last week was very undulating however my husband very kindly gave me his cold and so I'm still a little bit gunky in the head and finished in 2:13:16 but I still did 10 miles again!0 -
Good luck with the HM mrsp1987. I really need to schedule one into my marathon training (start next week) as the longest I have in now is a 10k race.
I did a 10 mile race today with a cold. It was tough, especially with the last few miles being straight into the wind.“Time is intended to be spent, not saved” - Alfred Wainwright0 -
I'm doing Bath half next Sunday.. Nervous! Have had a bad cold for the last week so I haven't done a long run for a couple of weeks. I did 11 miles then, so hopefully I'll be ok. It's going to be slow I think but I'll get thereLBM 1st Feb 2015 £18182 to go

Good luck stepuptothepl8.
If you have run 11 then 13 should be no problem. Adrenaline will help“Time is intended to be spent, not saved” - Alfred Wainwright0 -

I only ran 11 in training before my first HM and I completed the distance ok
Just go slow as you suggest, you can always pick up pace after 11 miles if you feel the urge0 -
My training plan calls for 11 as my longest run three weeks out from race day. I've done 10 miles twice now and I feel confident that I can do 13.10

Just stumbled across this thread and thought I'd say hi.
I started running last May in an attempt to lose the baby weight following the birth of my son. I'm trying to get out 3 times a week. I've got my first 10k race today and first half in 4 weeks - beginning to wonder what I've let myself in for!0
