Good luck to both of you! Which ones are you doing?
Half marathon is my favourite distance. Gives you enough time to settle into it properly but not long enough to get bored.Saving for deposit: Finished! :j

I don't know Indian Queens, but I love Bournemouth! Slightly downhill overall, nice sea view for most of it, good atmosphere, good organisation, even had enough portaloos at the start line last year! :0
Only problem was we couldn't find anywhere doing a decent carbfest before or roast dinner afterwards, but I suppose that's not very mse anyway.Saving for deposit: Finished! :j

I did a 5k in Bournemouth as my first ever race and loved it. Apart from having to run / walk with both knees bandaged - managed to fall over a few days before...Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

In that case, even more well done. I think it's much harder to put that kind of effort in without the pressure of a race - not to mention the water stations and lack of traffic and slow-moving pedestrians.
Now that you know you can do the distance, will you be aiming for a time or just trying to find out what you can do on the day?
For me, I did the last local 10k race for the season this morning. Conditions were really good so I got a nice new PB. Then I went back to bed because they are very early races. Now to focus exclusively on half marathon training for a few weeks.Saving for deposit: Finished! :j
