    Why, what happened Indiekid?

I can't wait for this this year's Thunder Run. Running, cake, camping, good company, running, cake, running, cake... it's the running highlight of my year!

I didn't enjoy it. The company was good and my team were lovely and understanding, what with me dropping out after one lap. The problem is mostly safety related - I can't do these type of events without help due to my hearing and sight impairments.

I hope this doesn't sound too rude, as it isn't meant to be, it is more me being inquisitive, but didn't you think doing a 24 hour run was a bit ambitious!? I wouldn't even try that and I am training for an ultramarathon!

No I saw that, but even in a team I wouldn't want to try it.

    Why's that, Fufu?

I can totally understand ruling out something like a 24 hour solo track race (how? WHY? I don't understand those at all!) but a 24 hour trail race in a team of, say, 6 doing averaging 1 lap per hour is just doing a rather scenic marathon with a few hours rest between each 10k. More than manageable for an ultrarunner.

I have a friend who has done a few of these events. He did Thunder Run 24 a few years ago solo (he did it as a team last year, I think) and came 4th in the mens solo. He did roughly 103 miles.

Now that's properly nuts! Definitely won't be doing that. Ever. A team of 5 or so will be more than enough running.

Hi folks. I'm considering doing a half marathon in early September so 9 weeks of training. I currently run 6-7k 3 times a week and my times are 5.5 to 6 mins per kilometre. Have I a hope of increasing that in time? Any good plans out there?
    Thanks
