Hi all I realy need some help please I have purchased a new hd smart 3D tv from currys 2 days ago got it home set it up and I am not happy with it because it has a fault with the picture it is very grainy and poor quality and also when you turn the channels over the sound is lounder on one channel then quieter on another to Me it is faulty . The tv cost me £700.00 pound I paid for it on my credit card and also took out the 3 year warrenty . today I took the tv back to currys and they said we will have to test it to give me a exchange or full refund so I said yes that's fine so they got it out off the box plugged it in and yes the picture was grainy but they said its ok and that it isent faulty but it was clearly a bad picture they said. They plugged it in to a coaxial aerial as well as a usb dongle demo thingand hd and they kept saying its fine and that I cant have a refund because it is not faulty 2 hours I was in there in the end the told me to contact LG direct and tell them and they will give me a authorised code for a refund or exchange so I left the store with the tv went home and rung lg and they said the store needs to ring them the cant give me a code the store has to call them so the man at lg said he will call the store and sort it out and would txt me the outcome but nothing has happened I feel that im just getting fob off left right and centre I am at my wits end what to do next please can somebody help me in this matter thankyou

Are you actually looking at HD channels or standard definition ones? BBC1HD would be a good test as its broadcast at a reasonable quality on freeview.
How big is the TV? What did you have before?
Variance in volume between channels is unlikely to be a fault but the consequence of the different volumes channels are broadcast at. Some audio options have something to try and balance this out but not all. You'll also note the volume goes up considerably when the adverts go on, again its a broadcast trick not a fault0 -

OP, were you watching Jamaica Inn when you noticed the sound problem by any chance? Even if you were not that program does demonstrate that sound quality does vary.0

Try john lewis for your next TV.
Or better still, got to a proper TV/ AV shop where their staff are actually trained in the products and can actually give you informed advice etc.
John Lewis do certainly have better customer service than Currys but are still not TV experts in the first place. Neither are best placed to actually give you real advice over the advantages of one set -v- another nor manage your expectations of results.
Giving a refund without checking really doesnt make others jobs worth. Blindly refunding everyone would drive up costs and next time you'd be on here complaining about how much more expensive things have become.0 -
My picture on my 60" 3D LED TV is horrendous on SD but perfect on HD. Also the sound is louder on HD channels, nothing new and certain not the tv fault0
