It just makes me so mad though...
Watching "How to get a council house"
Young woman demanding the council re home her and her child as she's due to be evicted for non payment of rent. States she couldn't afford to pay the rent and it's not really her problem. She's sitting there in designer clothiers, full make up, nails perfectly manicured, false eye lashes, loads of jewelry, the bare faced cheek.

Perhaps I could lend you my psycho-insomniac-toddler? Then you would be thankful that you aren't watching Mr F'ing Tumble on CBeebies or Disney's Frozen for the 5th time that day. My 'adult' telly consists of BBC Breakfast for half an hour in the morning and a few minutes of an ancient QI on Dave before dozing off at night.0 -
I can't get my head round the two generations of a family that have lived in the UK for 25 years and can barely speak English........
Personally, I wouldn't allow anyone into the country unless they can speak EnglishWe’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I've had to stop watching those kinds of programmes as I fear a) what will happen if my blood pressure goes any higher and b) that my remote might up imbedded in the screen :-/First Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0

I watched this and was quite confused about the single mother. When being interviewed by the Housing Options lady, she said she doesn't receive Income Support or JSA and when Housing Benefit was mentioned, she brushed the question off without it being answered by anyone.
If she did qualify for Housing Benefit, I thought when renting from the council this was still paid direct to the council, therefore not giving chance for the tenant to spend it on other things.
Did anyone else pick up on this bit and manage to work out what was going on?0 -

Doesn't feel like it - she cut chunks out of her hair this afternoon. It was nearly waist length - 'was' being the operative word0 -

She didn't appear to be claiming the right benefits, but this government has bought in a system of paying HB, direct to tenants, so that may be why the rent wasn't paid.
I don't know why they didn't just continue to pay rents, for social housing, direct to the landlords.
Lin :wall:You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.0
