yes....i thought they were likely to reject again, but i'm surprised that the price has dropped so sharply. it seems to be being taken that this is a final offer, which has been rejected, and so the speculation has been stripped out of the price.
Pfizer offered 5500p
Astra wanted 5885p..(£53.50+10%) to accept the bid would reflect the true value, apparently
Price now is 4250p0 -
tbh, really good for me. I am ready to buy back in. Just got to do some share chart analysis and put a buy limit in at the price I think it will get to0

just watching the price change in realtime on HL (i hope i'm right to have left) and seeing them tick up to over £43 in a couple of minutes.
im well down at this moment, but at £42/£43 if i wasnt already in heavily i would be buying in.0 -
fair play to you kittie... i was arguably very silly to buy in after such a jump. but we'll see. one way or another i reckon (and hope:cool:) that AZ will get above £50/share0

My limit buy order is placed at just over £32 held for two months. Just letting you see how I work to increase my husbands sipp. This is mid point of the previous azn range and placing a limit like this enables me to walk away and not get sucked into any frenzy (I am not a sheep)
Planetaria don`t beat yourself up, I made loads of mistakes when I was learning and I always called them course fees because I learnt from them. You`ll still get divis and they are solid shares0 -
good stuff, and thank you..
i wasnt beating myself up though. i wish i could buy at this lower level instead, of course;), but i think it will work out fine. i dont mind holding AstraZeneca. but i also think that the Pfizer deal may not actually go away, and today may turn out to be a glaring 'buy'.
...we shall see.0 -
If I had the spare cash I think I'd be buying today.
Even if the Pfizer bid is dead then I still think there could be another deal coming with another pharma company. A merger of equals with a mid-sized US company (Amgen? Abbott?) could be very attractive to investors and be more politically acceptable in London and DC.0 -
The AZN board have done a disservice to shareholders imo. Pfizer offered a good price, more than its worth because they make more in tax benefits, but of course all those AZN board members would have been out of the job so they rejected it.
Pfizer should have gone hostile.Faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.0 -
I got out at £46.7 when all of this started as I saw asymmetrical risk/reward for holding.
I'd definitely buy back in if they hit my original buying price of £27 ...I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.
Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.0
