i agree, it would
& yes...i think that things will work out well either way.0 -
This is one share I'm sorry I didn't hold on to. I was thinking of buying some in November, didn't get around to it, and now think I've left it a bit too late....
It was Royal Mail that got me back into shares - but I wasn't a novice. Although, I was new to online dealing. With RM, I admit I was mostly interested in a quick profit. But I also wanted to keep up my record of involvement in almost every government sell-off since the 80s. Not the most financially sound reason, I know!
I sold AstraZeneca some years ago, having bought in when they were still Zeneca.
Nevermind. You can't let regret get the better of you when you're involved with shares.0 -
anyone care to speculate as to how the Pfizer plans for AstraZeneca will play out?

I saw asymmetrical risk, in that the potential gain from a successful bid was less than the risk of loss given the (more likely IMO) failure to agree terms.
So, I sold to use up a chunk of my wife's shiny new CGT allowance.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.
Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.0 -
I have sat on the fence for a bit, but I think I will sell some of mine tomorrow. Having made 30% on it this year, one doesn't want to let greed cloud one's judgement.
Again. :-DI am one of the Dogs of the Index.0 -
If the action falls through, I don't expect AZN to fall much more than 10-15%. The Pfizer bid confirms that the long term story for AZN is good and I expect them to go over over 5000 within a couple of years, unless there is a market crash.0

my gut feeling is the same. they might pull back, but not far. i think the likes of Neil Woodford are sitting pretty at the moment, and arguably Pfizer have done AZ shareholders a massive favour already, potentially even more so if they walk away.
but, if we fast forwards 5 years, i suspect AstraZeneca will have been absorbed into Pfizer.0 -
I have decided to sell my remaining shares, a second attempt at beating 48 and I see that short sellers have come in. My ss graph is giving me a divergence signal wrt OBV. A profit is always a profit and nice to wrap up. Too early yet today to see if the OBV signal changes on tonights update but it would have to have the backing volume to change. I don`t see the big volume of 28th april, in fact it is 1/3 of that volume today0

And the AZN share price is down around 15% in the first hour of trading. Now only £41 a share.0
