We don't need to be drunk, and we do indeed use techniques that produce natural lubricants....

We simply need a lubricant in addition.... and hopefully this won't affect our chances of conceiving

The best lubricant for TTC is Preseed.

You can get this on the net - just google it !!

    Good luck.

Thanks for this. Did some research on the internet and ordered some - it arrived the next day. Been using KY Jelly before that...not any more. Fingers crossed as TTC

We've been TTc nearly 2 years and are now having fertility treatment (don't get me started on the cost of that & unfairness of the NHS 'lottery' system.....GRRRR).

I have similar problem (in addition to our other problems) and our consultant says that saliva is the best natural lubricant. I have used preseed, which is OK but I find a little messy, and doesn't do too much for the mood.
Had read about the Venos but was told Definitely NOT to take it if you are TTC, even for a cough!

Good luck to you...I have another 3 months on Clomid then it's IVF or nothing for us........

Hello, I wouldn't worry too much.
On the tube of ky jelly-it states that it isn't a spermacide and won't protect against pregnancy.
If you need a bit of lube-use it. I doubt a blob of ky will lower the chances that much.

    Good look btw!

  • Please see this link as to why I suggested taking Venos. It contains the guaifenesin as mentioned in the article. I took venos on our 4th month of TTC and fell pregnant that time. I don't know if I would have done anyway but i noticed a thinning of mucus. Its a simple measure and inexpensive.

I also read Taking Charge of your Fertility by Toni Weschler. I found it full of useful information. Didn't need it second time around though, this one is a surprise.

Reminds me, must stick my copy on ebay.

    Take care and good luck.

PS an interesting fact in that article is the mention of drinking plenty of water to produce mucus. Does your wife drink the recommended 1.5-2 litres a day. If she is a heavy tea/coffee or caffine drinker, that probably won't help.
