haven't tried it personally but i remember reading on a fertility website about a lubricant that is suitable for use when trying to conceive. It's called preseed.
Hope this helps0 -

apologies if this is controversial... surely the best way to make a baby is to have the best quality egg & sperms possible. Surely them coming into contact with a nasty, highly chemica,l man-made substance shortly before fertilisation isnt ideal? If saliva can interfere with them goodness knows what damage lunbricant does! Perhaps I being over reactive but I think out baby making facilites are already very damaged by the modern lifestyle and therefore the genetic quality of our offspring is getting lower and lower. It does not bode well methinks...0

But if it is too painful to get that far, there won't be any sperm meeting the egg to give it any chance of a start in life. Some people have to have lubricants to save ripping themselves to shreads in the process!0 -

If you take venos cough medicine a few days before you ovulate, that will increase/thin her cervical mucus allowing the sperm to get through the cervix easier.
It thins any mucus not just cervical.0 -
Are there not any techniques you can do together to produce natural lubricants rather than man made?

This is kinda the problem! A lubricant is definitely a necessity.... just wanna know if KY jelly is a bad idea or not.
Spoke to our doctor today, who didn't seem to think it would make a difference, but did admit there's no real evidence either way so couldn't give any kind of definite/informed answer.0 -

I would say try as much as you can to do without the lubricant, I think it is just a case of both of you get nicely drunk and see how it goes. Obviously try in the most optimum time, which is often around about 10 days after period.
Good luck0
