John Lewis don't sell Technika branded TV sets and so won't price match. Nor will Richer Sounds.anotheruser wrote: »John Lewis do price matching so find it the cheapest possible (must be a brick and mortar store), then ask JL to price match.
No retailer will offer a five year guarantee on one of these sets, even Tesco only offer an extended guarantee against "accidental damage"0 -
Currently into year 4 of my Technika 32" Full HD TV. Never had an issue with it.
Not a gamer, so it does everything we need it to. Don't really see the difference between ours, which cost £199, and sisters which cost £800.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

Age, bezel size, speakers, remote control, HD tuner, number/type of inputs etc etc.Don't really see the difference between ours, which cost £199, and sisters which cost £8000 -
Not that I was particularly referring to Technika TV's of course, just pointing out that the OP could get a well know brand for less.Moneyineptitude wrote: »John Lewis don't sell Technika branded TV sets and so won't price match. Nor will Richer Sounds.0 -
The OP specifically asked for opinions on a particular model from Technika.:panotheruser wrote: »Not that I was particularly referring to Technika TV's of course0 -
We bought a Technika LED TV for our caravan and it was great for the Freesat box we had there via component cable, but since we've sold the caravan its now in the kitchen via internal Freeview over the aerial and the picture is dire. Colours are so washed out?0

Check the aerial and connections first.blisteringblue wrote: »We bought a Technika LED TV for our caravan and it was great for the Freesat box we had there via component cable, but since we've sold the caravan its now in the kitchen via internal Freeview over the aerial and the picture is dire. Perhaps the caravan was in a better reception area?
Perhaps the TV is showing signs of age? How often did you watch it in your caravan? Perhaps you are unfairly comparing it with a much more expensive set in your living room?
All questions you should be pondering.0 -
So wrong - it is a digital transmission there is absolutely no way poor reception would have any other effect on picture quality than pixellation/breakupMoneyineptitude wrote: »Check the aerial and connections first.

Possibly but it is far more likely that it is the difference in ambient lighting conditions - a bright kitchen versus dim caravan lighting - and merely requires adjustment of the picture settings on the TV - brightness, contrast, colour etc.Perhaps the TV is showing signs of age? Fair point, but it was just one of many possibilities I listed.davemurgatroyd wrote: »it is a digital transmission there is absolutely no way poor reception would have any other effect on picture quality than pixellation/breakup0
