NHS seems to be really big on the cost of missed appointments.
Have you always rung and cancelled any appointments you've been unable to make?

Gp practices , hospitals and clinics etc in this area have new signage up re missed appointments. The pressure is heavy on all service due to staff shortages and other reasons.

All say phone to rearrange if you are unable to make the appointment. I've rung a number of times when dd has been too ill to attend. Usually it's a day or two before but a couple of times early on the appt day.and they arrange another date.

It used to be two missed appts without contact meant your case was cancelled. Many are now one fail to attend.

Hope you're getting somewhere with the DWP. I know you're talking about getting another job but you mentioned a colonoscopy so at least find out out what the problem is and the treatment.

If you go back to work you'll just end up going round in circles. You'll find yourself not being able to turn up some days and you'll be back to square one again.

Hope you managed to sort things at the surgery. As elsian said it's more productive to speak to the pracice manager. I was doing that yesreday as there was an important med missing from the bag I picked up from the pharmacy in town. Luckily she printed all Fridays prescriptions to take to the pharmacy.

It's difficult when you're too ill to rearrange an appt. That's my role as dds medical appointee. In circumstances where you've crashed out it's probably best to phone as soon as you can and explain.

I noticed dear Gitdog has been back at the vets elsian. Hoping he's ok and back home. It seems your pocket will take longer to recover though.

    Update

    Got nowhere with the docs
Apparently still employed which is why no DWP help.
Am definitely getting some SSP on 31st so that's something.
Sold my laptop to pay the additional money to HA so that's staved off eviction.
Put in for housing benefit again so that should help clear some of the arrears.

Now need to do sums and figure out what too do
