The only warm thing is the salt water thankfully sue, cold flannels take the pain down.
OH is right it will have to be the dental hospital it's a wisdom tooth that never properly erupted so gum cutting I think I can get my gp to refer me (God I'm popular, so far, dietician, healthy minds 2, neurologist) so hopefully will be awake at a reasonable hour tomorrow.
I love my kindle, I still prefer the smell and feel of books but I can read the kindle with a dog wrapped round my head lol.
Thank you pebbles, I think anyone would have taken pickles in as she's so cute, if you could get close enough to Ty it became apparent he had no muscle in his back legs (as well as them being mangled) so again anyone with a heart would take him in.0 -

not everyone would have taken them in,
you took them in because you are a wonderful, warm hearted person, sadly a lot of people would walk by without a second glance.
I too have taken in stray cats ,one of mine was found with an awful head injury,I advertised, knocked on doors etc but no one came forward so eight years later I have a wonderful cat whos a bit mad but the joy he gives me is priceless.
Then along came a little grey tabby with a broken pelvis from a road accident, again she didnt belong to anyone despite being nuetered, well fed and healthy,I suspect people are scared of the vet bills but I will never know.
I dont have any kids but an elderly lady said to me once that I was meant to be a guardian for animals who cant speak for themselves and as mad as it sounds I sort of believe that.
What Im trying to say in a clumsy way is that not everybody has your compassion and empathy Melly, what you do for the furbabies is fantastic and animals just know I think who can help them,
I think you are great and I wish you lived near me as I think you would make a great friend,
hope your tooth is better tday,

That will be another no sleep night then lol
Every time I started to drift off I got sung too by someone else's cat.
Just sent OH, pickle and Ty to bed so my dogs can have the run of the place, got some cleaning to do.
Tried an online butcher, first order is due on Friday because of the 25% off voucher I am getting a lot of meat for £40.
Tea and then walk this pair, might slam my front door as the kitten is still out and it's (she only every leaves one out because she's thick) terrified of the dogs0 -
Thank you Charlie.0

Actually I believe with oil of cloves there is a risk of 'burning' the gum and that dentists advise against it, they also advise against hot compresses because you can end up with a galloping infection spreading further than it is already.
melly, hope you can get to dentist very very soon ...
I did Google it at the time - quite a few years ago - and just had another look.
Found this link from Colgate which also recommends it:

Here's another link for Boots:

I think it's because it kills the nerve Poll so it's not recommended if your trying to save the tooth.
I am obviously not as it's partially erupted and I should have had it out ages ago but I know it's gonna be a through the cheek job.
Just had a lovely cuddle from.a jack puppy, she saw me and came.galloping over it was lovely.
I now can't carry 3 bags of shopping which is a teeny tiny bit pathetic. Right back to trying.0 -
Still no sleep
Windows are done
Nets and curtains are washed, ironed and hung up.
Beef stew is in slow cooker (onions, potatoes, celery, carrots, peas, stewing steak, garlic, thyme, splash of Worcester sauce)
Tiger and I had a full and frank exchange of views earlier as he attacked LB when she came in (and she screamed).
He has listened to me and taken everything on board so well he is currently cuddled up next to OH under the duvet with his head on OHS chest.
Chloroseptic throat spray is fab for numbing very sore tooth.
I am covered in MOA the green balm to try and stop the picking as I have completely wrecked my face now.
