I also had an abscessed tomcat to worry about.

He is a lot better today, it looks disgusting but is discharging which means it's getting better.

Our tomcat has also had a large abscess - took him to the vet on Thursday, now wearing a collar and feeling very sorry for himself as he can't go out. I keep telling him that this is hurting us (£100+) more than him ....

He's going Monday if needed. It didn't appear until last night, hot compresses worked.

It's lots better and as it's the back of his head he can't reach it

Wait for him to calm down (he's trying to break out again little sod) then bathe it and powder it again.

It's completely gone down now though no swelling at all so that's a yay.

It's a worry (and disgusting) isn't sleazy? Hope your boy gets better soon.

Epsom salts are good for drawing manky stuff out if needed - recommended by the vet for foot cysts a while back.
Although getting a cat to sit anywhere near a bowl of water may be slightly more of an issue.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
  • Very worrying - Ours was the size of a tennis ball, He's on anti-biotics and pain relief. We have to take him back on Monday - he's obviously feeling better now and can't understand why we won't let him out ....

    That is huge sleazy
Tom's appeared whilst he was out, was a scab on Thursday night, cleaned it then his other house said that he has a scratch on his head, and he'd just left theres he got in less than 5 mins later and it was a golf ball.

Epsom salt and boiled water cooled so it didn't burn, managed to bathe it for 10 mins before he got annoyed and it had popped a couple of hours later.

He let me clean it this morning but is feeling better now, so punched me in the face when I tried earlier.

    LBG is in
Found an unsore place and deflead her as the bloody kittens are leaving fleas everywhere (never seen a flea on mine before)

Pickle is under a blanket and needed me to stroke and kiss her too sleep (think she's feeling worried that ty will have all her loves)

Ty has had a big cuddle, brush, Felix goodie bag, kisses and is now eating food.

    Tomcat has !!!!!!ed off again.
