  • Have never been to the store killerpeaty...but there are 2 fairly locally....will certainly take a look when (and if) I ever get the money. Also need some cushions etc.....might take a look there for those too;)

  • Decided to download the trial of You Need A Budget this morning. Spent a few happy hours on there inputting all my figures, setting up accounts etc and will try it this month......but actually think that my 'pots' attached to my main spending accounts and my spreadsheets will do the job just as well!!:rotfl:Will probably end up saving money by not buying the full version!! However, I'm not writing it off altogether.....it just doesn't seem as 'straightforward' as I'd like.....it accounts for all of your 'pots' as part of the budget available....whereas I want them to build up & not actually use them unless I need to.....maybe there's something I'm doing wrong?

As for the rest of the day.....well it's been a NSD (except for budgeted spends!!):j.....ironing, tidying, preparing for tomorrow and the return to work/school. Took DD to a party and filled up with petrol so I don't have to rush in the week. Let's see how long a full tank lasts....my previous car would last me 2 weeks....

Tonight involves eating dinner (chicken roast dinner), getting kids to finish their homework & then an early night (hopefully) ready for the madness that tomorrow brings!

Hi I have been using YNAB for about a month so I am no expert but what I did with my rainy day funds was put the amount I had saved as the budget amount for that catergory then it wouldn't be available to budget - hope that makes sense. Well done on the ironing and tidying I've still got my pile to do:eek:

  • Quick post....not much to report....other than I've had a NSD, took my lunch to work & stuck to my meal plan:j. Not much, but all positive!

Tomorrow will not be a NSD as DD has dance after school....£2.50 but she enjoys it!

My return to work was as hard as I'd expected:eek:Not back in work mode yet...but it'll come;)

Have had a nice (free) walk tonight....took around 40 minutes but felt better for it.

Received my Lloyd balance transfer card today.....have already shredded the PIN number:money: My M&S card will be cleared this month...so I intend to close the account. I will then give my Tesco card to a family member for emergencies.

Excellent progress! And, I have done the same with YNAB (budget savings etc to make sure 'every penny has a job', lol).
Well done with work - it's always hard going back but it's closer to Friday than it was a few minutes ago (well Sat lunch for me as I'm on a six dayer this week, but I'm conveniently forgetting that when I remember :) )
    Night night x

  • Thanks giblet! I'm actually part-time so have Fridays off....so 3 more working days for me!:j

Have £2.50 in my purse so that'll pay for DD's dance lesson. Will take out this week's 'cash' spends today...

Have a great day all xx

  • £100 paid off family loan today....only £2495 of that to go:o

Only spending was £2.50 for dance. Haven't been in a shop & am hoping to keep it that way until Friday....which is sweets day for the kids & I'm meeting my friend for my free John Lewis coffee & cake:money:

  • Thursday evening can't come soon enough....work has been stressful & tough this week...am looking forward to a 4 day weekend!

On a positive.....there's been another NSD today:j. I took lunch into work & stuck to my meal plan.

Have my weekly spending money which needs to last until next Tuesday night:eek:Have £30....but £10 of that is budgeted for DS' haircuts tomorrow. I am meeting a friend for coffee & cake on Friday (courtesy of John Lewis;) and only need to buy blusher & pay for parking! Must resist the temptation to spend for no reason!!

Have had a productive evening since getting in...have taken DD for her swimming lesson, cooked dinner, prepared sandwich fillings for tomorrow's packed lunches, vacuumed, loaded DW & put it on, done one load of washing, folded dry washing, showered DD & am just having a quick cup of tea!! I am so much more productive when I'm back in the work/school routine:rotfl:

Haven't posted for a couple of days....but am doing well!! Managing to stick to my budget:j

I even managed to stick to my list when grocery shopping & only spent £82 (approx...need to dig out the receipts!!) I was so pleased....I did actually pick up other items but forced myself to put them back, as we didn't 'need' them.

Still have some money left from our weekly budget....not loads...but at least it's something!

Am spending the weekend catching up with family, so it should be a no/very low spend weekend. I'd love to take the kids out for a meal...but won't!!

Hope you're all enjoying the long weekend x
