Hi Lily,
Thanks for popping by on my thread.
Sounds like you've had a very productive day. Weather here is also terrible today
Well done on the NSD x0 -
I have just found a £5 note in my purse:j:j
Didn't know it was there.....so will put that aside towards the £16 I owe the window cleaner!!!:eek:2nd January 2015: Total £4970.70 Total now: £4878.88 :eek:Mum & Dad £100/£1795.00[STRIKE]Next £135.70/£135.70[/STRIKE]Balance now £0 :j

Have been doing a bit of research into the cost of an upright freezer - would really like one so that I could make the most of reduced items, batch cooking etc. if I were to get one it would be around £250-280. Am wondering if I need another 'pot' to start saving! What do people think? My current freezer is 3 drawers & only really holds enough for a week's worth of bread, meat etc.2nd January 2015: Total £4970.70 Total now: £4878.88 :eek:Mum & Dad £100/£1795.00[STRIKE]Next £135.70/£135.70[/STRIKE]Balance now £0 :j

Happy Saturday!!:j
Food shop done...still spent just over £100:mad::mad::mad: - mostly stuck to my list but there were a couple of things I'd forgotten, and a couple of 'extra' bits.....they'll all get eaten, just might need to put some aside for next weeks packed lunches...might mean I don't have to buy so much next week.
Other than that I'm having a quiet day. Have done some baking (banana loaf, oatie biscuits & flapjacks) to put in kids lunch boxes next week once they're back at school - just hope they don't all get eaten before then!:rotfl:
No exciting plans this weekend...DD has a party tomorrow so spent £8.99 on a present from Home Bargains...wouldn't normally spend that much, but they didn't have much choice today & I wanted to avoid going into the shopping centre (and the temptation of spending more!!) both DSs have their last footy matches of the season tomorrow too.....then Sundays will be our own for a bit:j:j

I feel your grocery pain. I took a list to Tesco for bits to eek out and spent £40:mad:Living half in debt, half in denial
At the bottom of the hole....pass the rope and hoist me up!!0 -
Part of the fight is to be aware of your spending. So well done!
It's also the convenience of these things that cause over spend! I bought a bus ticket even though I had a train ticket because it was sooner and I wouldn't have to walk in the rain! I shouldn't have really.
Have you looked into the range for freezers, this one seems pretty awesome.
Good luck!0 -

I actually bought loads.....a whole trolley full from Aldi...plus other stuff from Home Bargains. However, I expect that by next Saturday the cupboards will look bare again......my lads must have hollow legs!!!2nd January 2015: Total £4970.70 Total now: £4878.88 :eek:Mum & Dad £100/£1795.00[STRIKE]Next £135.70/£135.70[/STRIKE]Balance now £0 :j

Love the range, they almost always have decent stuff in it. But if you have one near you, I'd suggest looking at these things in person as sometimes (mostly with storage stuff to be fair) the images don't quite match up with the actual things. Also have a look at dunelm mill if you haven't already, not sure if they have large appliances but their sales are awesome. I got a big lovely red rug for £25 and I haven't been able to find a similar one for less than £50 since.0
