It is correct that it's a legal requirement to show all method of payments a retailer takes in their store at the point of sale ie cash tills these are usually the small signs beside the tills showing visa MasterCard Amex cash ect also shown on shop windows,doors ect. Trading standards will check for these among many others when they do their legality checks in all retailers , It is not illegal however to put a a4 stating cash only if the systems are down .if anything it is good customer service putting the sigh up at the pump giving customers the choice to fill up or not,these things do happen0

Really? Could you point to the legislation that required this?
I've seen the Visa MC JCB card stickers, never seen one with cash or cheque or bartering included.
I also never heard it said on any TS visit that such signs were legally required in any shop visit I witnessed them make...====0 -
