Hi all I got a parking charge in Jan which I ignored and the 2nd letter arrived 28 days later again I ignored that also, then I got the letter from the debt agency so I decided to appeal last Sat 12/4/14 Got a call on Monday saying appeal rejected looked at all letters no mention of POPLA apart from too late the past 28 days deadline since issue. What do I need to do I have printed the template saying they should offer me POPLA before I send it I would like your advice I have until next Sat 26/04 14 to pay???????
My reason for appeal is that I am a taxi who pulled up a the Hilton at Newcastle airport but the barrier would not lift and as my passenger was in a hurry she jumped out of the car so I just reversed out and left I explained to DRP this but they say appeal is too late HOW CAN THESE PEOPLE ISSUE DEBT LETTER AND THEN REJECT APPEAL ??? a bit like judge and jury to me

you missed the 28 day deadline to appeal and get a popla code, hence their rejection and why it went to a DC
should have been appealed in jan/feb , not april
all you can do now is to ignore the DC but dont ignore any LBC or court papers
in future, DO NOT IGNORE a pcn
ps:- debt collectors cannot issue a popla code, nor cancel a pcn , only the ppc can do those
best to get the landowner to cancel the charge as that definitely kills it stone dead0 -
Hi just looked at the date of offence 22/12 13 and the UKPP letter is dated 12/01/14 more than 14 days is it legal ???? I read somewhere the charge had to be issued with in 14 days how do I stand now I calculate the time elapsed is 21 days0

that only applies if they are citing pofa 2012 , so if it fails to comply its still a pcn but they can only pursue the driver , if they know who that is
you are mixing up the validity of the pcn with the validity under the pofa 2012 law, a common mistake
so if it fails the test for pofa 2012 , then its a pcn that can only be pursued by chasing the driver, not the RK , so if you havemt admitted who the driver is , then they cannot find out unless you tell them, which you wont
you could send a letter off to the ppc stating that fact (note I said ppc, not debt collector)
ignore the debt collectors
ps:- this thread is similar https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4950891
so read what it says about non-compliance to pofa 20120 -
sorry you lost me what is pofa 2012 as far as I know it is a parking charge which on internet advice I ignored until I appealed to DRP after finding this site I filled out the DRP appeal and said I am the RK / driver will this make any difference to ur advice OR should I just ignore there letters????? that will surely follow
As I said I was trying to enter the hotel to drop off but the barrier was not working so I had no choice when the passenger got out
so are you saying I should write to UKPP explaining that I was trying to get into hotel and could not because of the barrier problem?????0 -
please read the NEWBIES sticky thread, or try google
also read this which explains pofa as well, plus many other queries too

Welcome to MSE, we want you to use the forum to learn about this scam (and don't pay them) but we don't need new threads about debt collector letters again.
If you'd read the top sticky FAQs thread before posting there would have been no need for any questions - and no new threads about Debt Recovery Plus at all (what a marvellous thing that would be if we never saw threads about this letter chain because all new posters read the info already on the forum about this bunch).I got a parking charge in Jan which I ignored and the 2nd letter arrived 28 days later again I ignored that also
Also search this forum for the keywords 'Recovery bored' to find recent threads exactly the same...your best bet is to complain to the Facilities/Parking Manager at the Airport and state that this sort of treatment of a taxi driver does nothing to encourage your and your colleagues to return. Get the Airport to cancel it.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi all can you tell me if there is a template for complaining about Texts and letters from DRPL and now they changed hats to zenith I got 12 texts asking me to contact them ASAP which after 2 times I then just ignore and about 8 letters ?????????
PS my charge went fron £60 to £100 then £150 with recovery now down to £59.99 today offer expires lol
I have told the DPRL about the legal advice I sought but they still insist in harassing me :T0 -
Did you read the Stickies as advised on your last thread?0

Bah you lot are not nice to people very curt if u ask me u can say it without the nasty tone0

With respect I see no curtness its just a simple short question. Please keep in mind that we handle a substantial number of enquiries here everyday besides dealing with more detailed assistance off forum. I'm sorry if you think a short reply is curt. The fact remains that the "sticky" thread will provide you with a load of information. The stick thread saves us having to repeat it to every poster - that is what it is there for.My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0
