I wouldn't go worrying just yet, the letter you have received is pretty standard at the moment for Lloyds and i would not be shocked if by the beginning of next week you've received another letter offering to settle the whole claim.
As for the meeting they can't make you buy anything e.g a loan. What i'm looking to do is arrange the meeting and not bother going! No where on that part of the letter does it say that you have to attend the meeting only that they want you to arrange one! Their current defense for the bank charges is to state they are a 'service charge' and not a fine in any way, so they are playing on the wording in the terms and conditions, by arranging the meeting you are sticking to what they have asked you to do, but like i said no where does it say you actually have to attend!;)
Good Luck and let us know if you get that other letter.

This is Lloyds standard letter at the moment and in general people receive an offer by the next post, so hold tight meantime.
  • CHEERS Edinburghlass , lets hope so
  • Hi all,
Last week the court documents were served to LTSB which they are defending (no surprise) this morning I have received a letter from thier solicitors Secharim Clark & Mitchell in Brighton, they outlined the defence but the following bit has me confused.

' Looking ahead, a situation which gives rise to a dispute is not one the Bank wishes to continue. In view of this you are requested to make contact with your branch within the next 14 days to review your account. A review may be useful to consider whether your current banking arrangements are the most appropriate for your needs.'

Do you think they are trying to close my account?

    Thanks

As per the above threads most people have received a full offer immediately after receiving this letter so fingers crossed for you!
  • Hi all,
Just wanted to tell you that this morning I recieved a letter from Lloydstsb offering to settle the full amount incl interest.
Fingers crossed for everyone else out there claiming
    Best wishes xx
  • Just to let everyone know that i went to one of these as part of the conditions of my settlement a few weeks ago,

Firstly the woman doing the review wanted to know why i had come so i showed her the letter from SCAM...she then went on to explain that her partner was in the process of claiming his charges back from another bank.

While she was looking at the screen i apologised that the account was run so close to the overdraft limit, she smiled and laughed and said don't we all.

In all it took about 15 mins and in the end she turned to me and said there was no problem in here eyes the way the account was being run.

Hopefully this will put some at ease about the process.
