The side panels are upside down, you can see the supports are on the upper quarter when they should be on the bottom quarter

No they're not. Otherwise the centre support would not line up and be half a foot too high

I've found ikea pretty good at returns, contact them and see what they say.

That's good to hear. Although we're taking the non-MSE route this time. With Ikea being 50 miles away from us we're just sending it to bed heaven and buying one elsewhere.

Just though the pic might give people a laugh :)

I'd definitely recommend this route. We bought a solar-powered lamp on a one-off trip to an Ikea many miles away - when we got home it wouldn't work, so I rang Ikea to ask for advice, thinking I must be doing something wrong. They told me to send it back at their cost for a replacement. Then, within ten minutes, they'd rung me back and told me it would cost too much to send back, so I was to dispose of it and they'd reimburse me anyway.

Before I disposed of it, I had one more try with it. You know, those solar powered lights are just great, but they work best in the dark. Or with the solar battery part covered. Otherwise, what happens if you just try it in the daylight is that the battery continues to charge itself, and no light comes on.:o:o:o It's one of the best camping lights we've ever owned.

Instructions was followed and all screws etc used. This was less than a year ago. It's collapsed because it's !!!!py chip board and the bolts (or whatever the contraption is called) has just ripped straight out of the material leaving it irrepairable!
It's a completely poor quality product, as are so many of their products and certainly not designed to last even a basic amount of time!

Damn ikea and their hypnotic advertising ! Never again !

over the year have u tightened the screws up at times when turning mattress? or changing sheets

as in ikea they recommend u do this

    Dont throw it out yet.
I got a sofa bed from Ikea and the wood at the back split after a few months so was unusable. Phoned Ikea thought they are abit rubbish with faulty goods ( prev experience) they sent someone to my home to repair it and if that was not possible refund me as long as you have receipt and within a certain time frame. surfice to say had a chippie come out organised by Ikea and he repaired it without any cost but a few phone calls. This was about 3 years ago and my Ikea is about 35 miles away.

Our whole house if furnished with Ikea and we have never had any problems, even with the beds when me and the misses weighed in at a combined weight of over 40 stone (:embarasse) and sometimes got quite vigorous ;)

Have not got any beds from ikea but have a few storage bits and they always lasted well .

Had to repost your quote as I just found the "vigorous " description made me chuckle.
