I don't want a card reader

Assuming that you are lugging your mobile phone wherever you go, how about text messages? MetroBank sends security codes to your mobile phone to be entered online for certain transactions. (Fine until you are in an area with no reception / your phone battery goes dead / your phone is lost or stolen etc. )0 -

My personal experience and opinion of my accounts.
Barclays. Card reader used to be mandatory, long winded and awful to log in but now you can chose to use memorable information. Still long winded login even without reader but better.
Santander: No card reader but will send text codes where they deem necessary to authenticate.
NatWest. No card reader to log in but mandatory for new payees etc.
Halifax. No card reader, fastest and best login of them all by far and will just need to receive an automated call to your mobile or land line to setup new payees etc.• The rich buy assets.
• The poor only have expenses.
• The middle class buy liabilities they think are assets.0 -
Could be collector's items
You can get absolute 'bargains' on eBay:

I had to pinch myself - why would anyone be stupid enough to BUY a card reader? Or even the batteries for them?0 -
Urrgh i hate the card readers with nationwide! Such a relief to find my new accounts with TSB and Santander don't require one.0
