I buy tesco socks and they don't go hard . Ok they do get holes but I think the last pair I found a whole in were 6 months old.Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0

I've found the Pringle socks from TKMax are pretty good value, rarely wear out and I'm due to replace a load now after a long time. I also go for their CK and Pringle boxers. It's about the only reason to go to TKMAX now, their ranges are appalling, real shame.0

M&S do a range in menswear that is designed to endure, got to say got DH 12 pairs of them and they've not gone holey and he's the king of holey socks.

I buy M&S socks for my husband and they last for years. The last ones I bought were these and they haven't gone hard:

Yep, Next here too. I have bought their black ankle socks for about 3 years and many are still remaining from the 1st time I bought them!
Same with kids socks and boxers too, 3 years later they are still going!
I always buy lots of black ones the same, so I don't have to worry about finding pairs, saves me a lot of time.0 -
Gave up with Primark, they got thinner and thinner and also tighter and more ill fitting.
I'm onto Debenhams standard/ Collection and going well so far. Nice comfy fit, they have retained colour and elasticity well after several washes.0 -
Next socks for me and the kids here too. They just seem to wash and wear really well.0
