ive been reviewing the timeline and it seems that I have made a fundamental error. my wife claimed for the key replacement on the 18th nov. i took the policy out on the 20th,

subsequent claims were made on the 25th.

seems like I am in real trouble now.

I dont understand how their customer service couldnt give me the exact information.

anyway, I am now writing a letter of apology and a plea for leniency.

any advice?

You can write to Claims and Underwriting Exchange including a cheque for £10 for a copy of the central claims records they hold on you.

A nice polite and sincere letter is well worth trying, I've not dealt with L&G for a few years but they genuinely used to have a heart so it's worth a try as the letter may land on the correct persons desk.

Outline what happened and how it happened, try not to play the victim too much, outline the potential costs to your family in extra costs etc

I have quotes from three insurers:

insure4retirement
fresh!
think insure

insure4retirment is nearly half the price of the other two for buildings only, anyone know them?

Otherwise opinions on the other two? think insure seems to be a better policy as there is more included,
