No, what i object to is the insinuation that i patched the car up and sold it on as a "one careful owner, full service history" car to "some poor mug".nobbysn*ts wrote: »
Sure you managed to turn it round as "one careful owner, full service history" with a bit of filler, and a few panels from the scrappy to some poor mug though.
Thats an unprovoked uncalled for and unfounded personal attack which you were representing as FACT when you in reality knew nothing about the purpose of the car.
So now that you have been pulled on your comments are you going to stop ducking and diving, admit you were bang out of order and apologise?0 -
If you want to avoid pressure selling, try http://thecarpeople.co.uk/ if you live near the north of England. I bought my current car from them and they were a breath of fresh air (and I should know - I once visited Carcraft  ). Their after sales was great too. I even get an email from them every year reminding me of when my MOT is due, but with no pressure to book me in for one.0

I just remembered about the kia dealer saying he recommended that even if you have enough money in the bank to pay for the car to keep the cash and use there PCP.
Yeah right I don't think so.
Edit
not to mention that they shouldn't be giving out financial advice.0 -
We visited 6 dealers in our recent search, experience was very mixed.
We had booked a test drive with a Hyundai dealer. Wandered in, place deserted, called out - eventually someone appeared but had no knowledge of the booking and she only person there. 'Who did you arrange it with?' is the usual answer on arrival - 'everyone has their own diary' Why? Wouldn't it be sensible to have a common diary? Is that too complicated?
The woman was pleasant enough but knew less about the cars than us and coud'nt answer simplest Qs (which model is this, what mileage? etc). Also said they werent able to source used cars on the national Approved list. Isn't that the whole point of these arrangements- to give you a wider choice of models that meet a standard?
Conclusion- lazy, incompetent, bargepole job.
Kia dealer had separate staff and systems for new and used - ineffficient.
At Vauxhall we were totally ignored and accidentally wandered into the back offices unchallenged.
Ford were fine, & although the guy stank of fags, he knew his stuff, was genuinelly informative and not pushy. Understood that no point selling util we done the test drives .
Most were much less hard sell than I expected even with captive audience on test drive, and were content to sit there quietly and answer questions if asked.
The whole set up seems generally inefficient, badly organised, sloppy, and in need of some proper systems.0
