Console repair (ripped off)

Hi everyone
Recently my ps3 stopped reading discs so I needed to get it repaired. I considered letting grainger games partner company fix it but being the sad man i am, I wanted it back as soon as possible.
I asked a man in the local repair shop how long it would take (2/3 days) and how much worst case scenario (£60). Anyway I was happy with this so I left the console there.
Anyway 9 days later I am told it is finished so I go to the shop pay the money then ask if he put a new blu ray player in, he replied no, which I was surprised at but wasn't bothered if the problem was sorted.
Got home put in my only game I had and it wasn't working properly.
Next day I went back told him the problem, he said he would send it back to get checked out. Turns out he doesn't fix them he send s them to another city to be fixed which I wasn't aware of. I said no problem il pop back in a few days. I then asked for a receipt which he reluctantly gave me.
Next day the technican rings me and tells me he has been playing my ps3 all day and it is working fine. So happy I return after work and pick it up and buy myself a new game.
Get home and it still isn't reading the discs properly, so I make four videos on my phone as evidence. One of which shows the ps3 not reading the disc, then me ejecting the disc from the console, which proves it wasn't reading it.
I return to the shop the next day and the bloke was rude and very passive of my protests. He tries to say maybe the problem is on my end and that he will unwillingly send it off to get checked again.
I tell him ok but if it isn't fixed I will contact trading standards. He then gets really mad and says stuff like ," how dare you threaten me in my shop etc
i just kept my cool and said I'll be back in a few days.
Anyway after keep popping in and telling me a few more days each time it is finally ready about 10 days later. I think him and buy a new game to play with.
That night (last night) I try it out and once again it isn't reading the discs. I tried two games and once again made videos of the problem showing the date on the computer.
So after work today I popped in and told him it wasn't fixed. He was really rude and said the problem was on my end (which is impossible as the ps3 isn't reading the discs, nothing to do with my tv etc) I then asked what he was gonnna do about it and he replied nothing and told me to leave his shop. I told him I would be contacting trading standards.
Sorry for long post but can anyone give me any advice on what I should do?
Thanks

Trading standards don't chase individual cases, they are only interested if they receive multiple complaints about a company/trader.
It leaves your only option with the small claims court for failing to fix it.

Ok thanks

Would it be worth doing then?
Not only am I £55 out of pocket but my console is now worthless too0 -
Your console was worthless prior to this affair if it wasn't reading discs - but I'm afraid you've been bumped which isn't uncommon with these "operations".Retired member - fed up with the general tone of the place.0

are you certain its not your "only" disk that's the problem0

At the end he says he tried his other games.
As for the trader, why threaten something? The retailer has pushed you out because of it. This will cost you more to chase than to go to an alternative. And yes, it was worthless before he started, so the only loss you have is the £55.0 -
You said he didnt put in blu ray player... that the problem as the games on blu rays disk no wonder it wont read disk.. and to prove it can you not download a demo see if it work.... if he refuse grab a sign write bad bout shop and sit outside0

unless you meant he didnt replace the blu ray... still download a demo install see if it work.... otherwise buy a ps4 broken ps3 will get you 30 quid back on fl;eabay0

I said this because he was being very rude and wasn't even listening to my complaints. I had the evidence on my phone and he didn't even want to look at it.
So basically he gets off with ripping me off?
If it didn't cost too much I'd take him to small claims court anyway. It's not the money it's more the principal.0 -

Demos and downloaded games work fine. Basically it reads discs for about 5-10 mins then stops and freezes.
I showed him this on my phone and he said the problem was 'on my end'. And anyone who knows anything about consoles will know it can't be a problem with my tv etc
Thanks for advice everyone0
