stocking up while it's cheap, how much have you got?

When the supermarkets offer bogofs and 3fers it would be rude not to take them wouldn't it? That's why I currently have 6 months worth of shower gel, 12 months of washing powder tablets and I'm just coming to the end of 4 months worth of dishwasher tablets. If you have the space to store these little bonuses and they are certain to keep then why not?
The question is, what special offers have you stocked up on, how much do you have and where do you keep it all?
If I screw my eyes up tight I can just about see where you're coming from

generally as much as i can afford to buy at the time

or have enough space for in regards to things that must be refrigerated or frozen

this applies mostly for me to reduced items. i rarely ever use bogofs or 2 for 3's because they tend to be on products i wouldn't buy anyway.

however, if i am considering a store brand of something and i can get a big brand cheaper though a bogof i'll buy that if it's something i would need more than one of

it's not unheard of us to take 20 of something in the reduced section. people look at you strangely, i just think 'have they not heard of using their freezer?'

I had a years worth of 50% extra coffee that I've only recently finished, a years worth of stock cubes just done, and now six months worth of a different stock cube to go. Another three of bog roll... and I'm looking forward to my next monthly shop because I'll be looking at things with a very different eye than I had just two short weeks ago.

I dont very often stock up on items on offer for two reasons. The one reason is that we are always more generous with the portions/amounts we use. I have tried sooo hard to be more disciplined and i have hidden the crisps/choc bars, but be honest, i dont have that much room to store it.

The other reason is, i would prefer the extra money to stay in my bank account rather than pay up front - no matter how discounted it is.

There is an exemption to my rule though. I have about 12 months worth of Head and Shoulders sitting in my bedside drawer. I bought them discounted, and now everyone says it makes their head itch (they have been using it for years no problem up to now).

No Squeaks - i just need someone to tell me how to use 10 big bottles of Head and Shoulders. Ive tried washing up with it, using it as bath foam, using it as a bodywash and its not very good.

However, my hairdresser informed me yesterday the stuff is that strong, when she was at college she was told you could perm hair in the stuff. Bit of a shame really - since i paid her £20 to perm mine. Could have saved meself a few quid.:o

  • just a thought - could you dilute the head and shoulders with a more simple shampoo just as you use it?

I could do, i could also decant it into a different bottle to see if their heads really itch or whether they have just got fed up with it.;)
