    MAJOR UPDATE

teatime daughter phoned me on my mobile to say she had dialled our landline several times and each time got a family in Leicester (We're in Dorset). I phoned my landline from my mobile and I too got that family. They had problems this morning and contacted TT and had their calls diverted to their mobile, which is where my daughters and my calls went.

Via saynoto0870, I found lots of TT numbers but only recorded messages telling me I would be kept updated via text.

Clearly this is unsatisfactory (imo), so if anyone knows a number with LIVE person at the end, I'd be grateful. Mark TT rep, can you help please?

    Update SUCCESS!

Eventually got to speak to TT but was given the run-a-round, text came through say "engineer dispatched". Saw openreach up a pole outside, he said he was dealing with my problem and wondered why I hadn't answered phone. Told him of the diversion. He said my provider must have done that as they can't. Came to house, tested everything and heard crackle. Went to green box and identified problem which he repaired, problem solved. All within 24 hrs of notification.

    Oh the stress!.

Phone is fine, perfectly clear. He said something about "fraying". He lifted the diversion. Seemingly Hash 21 Hash sorts that out. Internet fine. but shush, keep it quiet.

Fraying will have been the connection ... loose strands at the joint. He'll have cut it clean and remade the connection.

Talktalk have emailed me a questionnaire regarding my recent dealings with them. They now have received a low rating and they asked why, I simply told them the truth. I went to them to resolve a crackle on the line and they then diverted all my incoming calls to another part of the country causing stress and a great deal of inconvenience plus the fact that automated answer machines are frustrating.
