Op I would go in grovelling and accep4 anything that comes your way, I have been in you position before and ended with being sacked which is a real possibility in your circumstances. You have had two minor dinks maybe one in too much, hope you get the outcome you want.0

I have said that I accept full responsibility for my actions. Again I don't know see how the comment about "something a 10 year old would come out" with is helpful in any way. I understand why some posters feel that they need to be holier than thou on a forum which is boasting about overpaying debts as if that is something to be proud of. I understand the fundamental premise that all money is debt. Note to self: do not post on MSE again unless I want to be mocked.
Sure I am missing something, but what has that to do with crashing a van?0 -
I'm a little confused as to how the employer found out about the accident.
Did you report the accident to your employer or did somebody else report it?0 -

If by having a personal dig at me makes you feel better then carry on.
If you think that I was having a go at you then you're sadly mistaken; the attitude that you've responded with on these boards certainly won't hold you in good stead.
Did you report the accident on your return? If not why not? Not being nasty but I'm sure that's one question that is going to be asked - even if you were 100% sure that there were no damage, by not saying anything to anyone can't you see smacks of you hiding something?No one is trying to mock you - just trying to give constructive advice to try and change you're attitude to help you if/when it becomes a disciplinary.PHILANTHROPIST wrote: »Some MSE members criticise ACAS. I have to say on the 2 occasions I had cause to ring ACAS over the many years of employment, they were about as much use as a bowl of cold custard2014 Target;

They gave me shockingly bad advice - and I know I am not alone in reporting this.
Half the time they didn't seem to know what they were talking about.0 -
I have just read the whole thread.
OP I do not think that any of the posts are having a go or a pop at you instead they are as already mentioned pointing out the facts.
you did damage someone else's vehicle
you did not report it.
The best option now is just to be completely honest explain why you did not tell them.
Will you get the sack most probably.
But it is not our decision to make your employer will look at all the facts and then make a judgement inline where their company procedures.
But OP GM is not something to be taken lightly and I know from your posts you agree that this is serious.
Look we have all made mistakes the best thing now is to learn from them. I don't think anyone here is trying to be the Arc Angel so please do not take it that way I think for what it is worth some of the posts are simply trying to make you face up to what is happening and the possible outcomes.
For what it is worth Good luck!Happiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!:A0 -

If you want some pragmatic advice then I would again suggest that you call ACAS and/or read some of the info re investigation and disciplinary procedures on their excellent website :
http://www.acas.org.uk/index.aspx?articleid=1461
Some MSE members criticise ACAS. Again, they are of course entitled to their opinion.
Their website and downloads are excellent but their initial telephone helpline (call centre might be a better name) is no substitute for proper legal advice.0 -

I agree I asked them a question about one of my employees and OMG it was so way off the mark it was really quiet bad. Thank god for solicitors. I would only use them as a starting point and would never take exactly what they say to be the gospel.Happiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!:A0
