No I understand they aren't charities and will take their chance to increase premiums.0 -
OP did something wrong, we all know that.
Is it the point of this forum though, for others to hark back upon past events in reply to someone asking for advice?0 -
I would also like to add another post which hasn't been raised here and which the OP seems to think is irrelevant.
When the OP crashed the van checked the damage and drove of he was representing his employer. This type of action puts the employer in disrepute and could also as a result affect their business overall.
As far as the comments made by OP as to how difficult it is to drive down narrow roads with cars parked on both sides. Yes it is difficult but most seem to manage it. You've asked for constructive criticism - mine is that I don't think you have the right integrity or driving skills for this type of role.0 -
I have said that I accept full responsibility for my actions. Again I don't know see how the comment about "something a 10 year old would come out" with is helpful in any way. I understand why some posters feel that they need to be holier than thou on a forum which is boasting about overpaying debts as if that is something to be proud of. I understand the fundamental premise that all money is debt. Note to self: do not post on MSE again unless I want to be mocked.0

Do you mean: do not Post on MSE if there is a chance that answers given won't be the ones you want to hear?
It happens its a public forum and not everyone will agree with your position.
Go to the meeting, be apologetic and play the game,if your lucky you will get away with a slapped wrist, I may have err killed a boss's x5 in the past so do have some sympathy, but also have experienced the ignorant !!!!!s at Asda who think its perfectly acceptable to open their car door into yours, so have a hatred for people who damaged my property without contacting me.0 -

Whatever the outcome of this I hope you will learn from it and be able to move forward. Also as I have said in my previous post I don't think driving these types of vehicles is the right job for you.0 -

Hi again Craig . Genuinely sorry to hear that you feel you are being mocked. Many people sense that they may be being mocked on open internet forums. At the end of the day, members just offer opinions and it is easy for some people to be somewhat critical , in particular when posting anonymously.
If you want some pragmatic advice then I would again suggest that you call ACAS and/or read some of the info re investigation and disciplinary procedures on their excellent website :
http://www.acas.org.uk/index.aspx?articleid=1461
Some MSE members criticise ACAS. Again, they are of course entitled to their opinion.
What time is your meeting ?
BTW - you may wish to edit your original thread. You refer to a certain employment sector. If you do in fact work in that sector then you may wish to change reference thereto. Big Brother's HR team may be monitoring this site. It happens.
Cheers0 -
Well, what's done is done.
As to what to do next, be honest, admit that you made a big mistake, and say sorry. I've no idea how it will turn out, but suspect that it's for the best to be contrite and conciliatory.0 -
My meeting is at 5 pm.0
