  • How much is the lease costing you each month?

It really is worth while shopping around there appears to be huge variations in what you can pay.

I got mine just when they were bringing out the new UK built model, and it was a 1 year old ex-demo with 4000 miles on the clock. I paid 2K up front and pay 150 per month.

So to clarify; your post is to tell me Ive mistakenly said "rent" whereas I should have clearly stated leased? HUGE difference. I cannot appologise enough.*

    * I dont.

No you tried to be smart and said they "rent" you the battery and said it was dodgy.

Or have you forgotten what you posted?

And i really don't care if you apologise or never post on the forum again.

    Your boring me now.

    No you cant. Ironic.

Wrong again. My nearest Nissan dealer will sell you a Nissan with battery included in the price or on a Renault like lease deal.

Good ideas do not discount it from being suspect practice.

    You have issues.

The suspect part is that they charge you for the lease(not rent) of the batterys. So what does this do to second hand car prices? Is it an issue to transfer the lease(not rent) over? What happens in the event of a total loss incident/accident? Will performance be maintained along with the lease(not rent) cost? To name but a few considered in but a moment.

So they should give you the battery for free?

    Stop talking nonsense.

The battery lease idea is part of the master plan that Renault have where on longer journeys service stations on motorways or autoroutes have automated battery removal stations. So that you drive in with a depleted battery. Drive into the booth and the battery is removed from below and a charged one put in its place.

And when you sell your car the new owner would simply lease a battery for themselves.

It really isn't that complicated an idea.

Yes - this is something you really have to watch out for when looking at adverts at Nissan dealers. There is generally about a 5K difference between the 'batteries included' model and the 'FLEX' (batteries rented) model.

Have been impressed by the BMW i3 and have had good things from a couple of colleagues who have them in London, I think I will wait until the early adopter tax has reduced before seriously considering one.

I've just ordered a Nissan Leaf and I'm trying to sort out charging options whilst I'm waiting for delivery. Can anyone answer the following:

    - what charging networks are worth subscribing to?
    - does anyone have a good link that explains charging connectors and compatibility (all the websites I've seen thus far give no real information).
