Parking Eye gets a visit from Court Bailiffs

No Enfield but it's the county court here and they use quite a bit of discretionProud to be a member of the Anti Enforcement Hobbyist Gang.:D:T0

It was just an option. It depends if the OP thinks it's worth the hassle. Thanks for the advice. I don't particularly want to have to communicate with Parking Eye directly, as I have found them to be adversarial to say the least.
I'm guided by your experience, I don't mind the hassle, (it's not about the money), but I don't wish to seem unreasonable.Illegitimi non carborundum:)0 -
where they reasonable with you? did they waste a lot of your time and energy? is it not true that all this happened when they knew they were wrong for doing it?
do parking eye give 2 figs about you or the courts?
now think hard and if they are a company you would recommend to your best mate , then throw the cheque away0 -

copy it and then bank it - if it bounces (it won't in all probability) then get back to Parking Eye and or the court.
Banks show a lot of lattitude when it comes to banking corporate cheques.0 -
I agree , however if the cheque "bounces" due to being incorrect , hit them with new charges0

The cheque wasn't for a large amount of money. I haven't banked it yet as it gives me great pleasure every time I walk in from work and stare at it on my desk. I've framed the accompanying letter, as a little reminder to myself, and my kids/grandkid, it's important to stick up to bullies.
I'm quite happy to use the legal process as freely as Parking Eye were us.
I have absolutely no qualms about admitting that the thought of bailiffs visiting Chorley would give me nothing other than great delight.
I guess the real issue is whether or not I would succeed.Illegitimi non carborundum:)0 -

IIRC the costs awarded were £20 - whilst you are looking at - the money is remaining in Parking Eye's accounts and earning them (miniscule interest) when it could be in your account.
Dude just copy the cheque and frame with the letter.
It will in all likelihood clear - if it bounces then action can be taken.0 -
It's a shame the unpaid CCJ's are not for over £600 or the Sheriff's could have been sent round.0

I think I'm right in saying that once the cheque has been cashed you can get it back from the bank. I know there are stories out there of people who have won the lottery having the cheque framed (before bank transfers were used so easily).0 -
