Well that would mean someone being vindictive just for the heck of it. Why would anyone do that?

Of course, if there was any fairness in the world, the unemployed should have priority over the employed when it comes to jobs, just because the employed person is well - employed already - but we all know that's not the case. Being unemployed doesn't mean you are less likely to be a good employee than someone already in employment. All things being equal, the only difference between the two is blind prejudice - which is pretty depressing if you think about it.
No I do not agree with priority. I say it should be fair and not thrown in the bin if you are unemployed. You may have more experience etc but as you are not working you don't get a look in.

Na why would they? None of us got the job anyway, One positive about working for a !!!!! company is the employees all become close and stick together, none would grass another up.
You all stick together? I bet thats not really the case at all.

Well if I were in the position of hiring someone, if I had to choose between two candidates of equal calibre and one was employed and the other not - I'd choose the unemployed every time. But then I have to confess to being hopelessly idealistic!

That's if the unemployed person even gets theinterview and they aren't.

I found some old emails the other day from back in 2008 where I had 4 agencies fighting for me to register with them and would I go for this job or that job, but I wasn't looking for a job then. Now, they don't want to know.

It should be the best candidate with the best experinece not the person with the least as long as they have a job.

Don't talk yourself down. You are as good as any of those in similar positions to you but employed. The fact you aren't get interviews isn't due to you being worth nothing. It's due to mindless prejudice.

Some employers do have a social conscience to help the unemployed locally.

I remember about 18mths ago (just before I became unemployed) a large supermarket built a superstore on waste land which was previously owned by the council. When it was due to open the criteria to apply was that you had to be registered unemployed at the job centre. The job centre sent a few hundred for the interview and the store recruited bout 200 from them. It gave a huge boost to the local economy. It is a pity that more employers don't take a leaf out of this large retailers book

Yeah ASDA had that here where you had to be living in the borough to apply. I did and failed the application process! LOL
