Aww thanks misst, ss, DM and IC2D - really appreciate your kindness - what lovely people you all are! :T
I'm pleased to say, despite a few twinges, there has been no repeat of Thursday's 'agony' (god, I'm so dramatic sometimes, lol).
Been to jobs 1 and 4 as usual, but am taking it a bit easy today, and we have a very sad anniversary coming up, so are going to a 'do' to commemorate this later today. Will be lovely to see everyone, as they are like family, but also a stark reminder that we should live every day to the full as you never know what might happen.
In MSE news, most of the week was NSD and as we're house sitting for two weeks, we will be saving gas / electric, and eating much of the homeowners food (at their insistence!).
In two partly encouraging, but slightly frustrating occurences, I got my refund cheque back from April for the train fare expenses (£434) but it is in the wrong name (I use a different name for work) and I have to try and get that changed.
Also, I got a letter saying I've nearly paid off my student loan :j so have to switch to DD from salary sacrifice BUT I've subsequently found out that they haven't received any of my payments from 2012-2013 tax year, so I have to prove that I have made those payments (oh no....where the hell is my 2013 p60, haven't a clue) The good news, is that rather than the £2000 + they think I still owe, the real amount should be nearer £900. Hurrah!!! Only took me 13 years, lol.
My DH (who is looking after me brilliantly as usual and has just made a brew while I lig here) just piped up "Although it would be good to pay off the student loan early, wouldn't it be better to keep it as the normal repayment amount, and overpay the loan instead as the interest on that is higher". He is definitely on the MSE wavelength now, bless him. I'm so lucky!
Right, better drink up and get moving. Hope everyone is well, and sorry for the extended ramblings! xDebt remaining:

Hopefully by the end of this year. As long as I can find my p60! Not sure how much they will want by direct debit but if it's about £200 a month then probably only a few months because, thinking about it, I've made more contributions this year that they haven't taken into account either. Very exciting! XDebt remaining:

Thanks INOD; yes it's very exciting! I'm thinking the loan OP's can be increased to at least £200 per month minimum once the student loan is gone, and hopefully more, house renovations depending.
Well I'm house sitting atm hence lack of updates. Took a day a/l to have a break from the 'madness', and have resisted catching up with reports, although not work e-mails.
Went to l1dl, which I haven't done for a while and was impressed by some of the meat offers. A big packet of mince, and a medium size pork joint for just over £5 (definitely cheaper than Mr T, and better than the choice in @ldi last time I was there). Did end up spending on some cakes / biscuits for the parents, but they were delighted so I'll let myself off this time
Otherwise, things are ticking over. Waiting to get paid, and then will see how much is available for OP'ing. The plasterer hasn't started yet, but I'm aware that I have to make sure there is about £600 there at short notice. We also will have to buy a carpet, but already have the paint so that isn't too bad and there will probably be another payday before the walls are finished anyway.
Feeling a bit uneasy tho as DH is very stressed and I would rather he gave up his job than got any more poorly with it. In reality, I am very worried about him, but it would be very tight financially if he wasn't working (and I know he would feel bad even though I have insisted that we could manage). I just hope he can find something else soon (he is looking every day) because I hate seeing him so unhappy
On that note, I'd better get the pork in the oven; planning a nice tea to hopefully cheer him up a bit.
Hope everyone else is doing well xDebt remaining:

Hi Gib. Hope OH is okay and finds new job soon. In hindsight I would have thrown a few sickies rather than get so stressed - hard to do I know, but I didn't help myself by also working when I was poorly. Easy for me to say, I know.

What line of work is OH in? Are the skills transferable? It is a dilemma re taking sick leave as you're afraid of creating a bad attendance record when searching for a job.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 11st 12lb determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. Hello!
I've found you - I didn't realise you had your own diary.
I've just been reading through - with everything that you've got going on, I'm in awe that you are also making inroads in to your loans and thinking about mortgage overpayments.
Don't overdo things though - don't forget to look after yourself.
But you are doing great, I take my hat off to you :beer:Early retired - 18th December 2014

Hi all,
Thanks for your responses :j.
SS - I agree about him being off sick because I genuinely think he is, but he has a very strong work ethic, and is worrying that it would look bad for him if he goes off with stress. Poor lamb!
INOD - he is in administration but without giving too much away, it is very high pressured i.e. others rely on him doing his job to make sure a service can run and without it people would be at risk. However, he is paid peanuts for what he does, and management haven't got a clue, and take advantage massively (whilst all p***ing off to meetings and leaving DH to take the flak when things go wrong )......and breathe! It makes me so mad!
He doesn't want to have stress related sickness on his record, and to be honest, as we have talked about fostering / adopting in future and he'd be the 'stay at home' parent, he's worried it'll reflect badly.
Hi Ggirl - welcome to the diaryyou've done well to make it through my ramblings!
Thanks for the praise, but it all sounds much more motivated than it is in reality. I need to get a balance; you're right but I am getting behind with work stuff, and there's far too much to do in the house, so less sitting on my ample behind, and more action is required
Not much to report here. The nasty symptoms continue, so I've postponed job 4 till tomorrow (and I'm sure I'll be delighted about that when tomorrow comes around......)
Putting together a nice (hopefully) meal for DH and a friend tonight, and he is providing drinks and pudding so should be vaguely MSE (I've got all the ingredients already). Not a NSD today tho as I was enticed by a cappucino whilst out after being stuck in traffic (haven't done that for a while, and won't be getting back in the habit). Could have been worse tho as there was a large cake display calling my name...:o
Still waiting [STRIKE]patiently[/STRIKE] for payday so I can do some money juggling, and haven't found my p60 yet for 2012 so will try to do this on Sunday. Also didn't get a response to my enquiry to change the name on a refund cheque, so I'll e-mail them and push this as it is a lot of money (over £400!!!). Overpayment city here we comeIs it sad to be very excited about this???
Hope everyone else is doing well, and [STRIKE]enjoying[/STRIKE] surviving the weather.
