    Who gives a damn!

It does amaze me, that this is seriously something someone would complain about!

Seriously OP if your biggest worry in life is that the BBC seem to have brought a job lot of cheap coats then i'll swap you.

It's not advertising if they were saying "Oh I'm so warm because of my wonderful Berghaus jacket" then I could see your problem

It doesn't matter on other channel's I'm not paying my TV license for them not to advertise.
  • But are you getting paid to promote Berghaus products?
Until you started this thread, I had never even noticed what jackets the presenters on BBC were wearing.

Just because they are wearing something doesn't mean that they are promoting or advertising it.
Another way to look at it is that by getting the clothing at a substantial discount, the BBC have saved a little bit of the money that you have paid them.

Did you actually mean the double not? That means you want them to advertise.

This is known as product prominence - reflecting the fact that everyday items sometimes have names on them, but not actively promoting them or receiving an inducement to use them. No problem with it at all, and if the OP objects so much I would suggest she comes up with a practical solution to overcome it.

The mini mart in Eastenders does have real products in its shelves, covered by the above rule - it would be unrealistic if they were not there.

I'd steer clear of The Apprentice if I were you!
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.

You are paying, via your license, for Top Gear', complete with all it's advertising, because it's on BBC2.

Funny the things that worry people......

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset. ;)

I noticed "on the spot" reporters wearing The North Face stuff so the Berghaus placement certainly hasn't worked on me.

My gripe about BBC ads is their constant advertising of future TV and radio programs on the radio. Really not interested. But this is one for the Vents forum
